Been living at Hunter's Chase for a couple of months now in a 2 bedroom 2 bath "Arlington" style apartment.

So far I am satisfied with my arrangements. The apartment is very spacious. Both bedrooms are equal size with large walk in closets. The laundry in the apartment is enormous, with pre-installed shelves on the walls. We store a great deal of things in there and bought a chest freezer to help alleviate the small freezer space in the refrigerator(although the fridge space is quite large).

We have a unit right next to the clubhouse so the community gym and pool are a 1 minute walk away. The hours at the gym are acceptable 5am-11pm, although I don't understand why it's not 24hrs since there's no staff onhand... but I digress. Amenities are usually extra per year but we negotiated them free on our lease. The deposit was miniscule, and the monthly rent seems fair.

The grounds are well kept overall. I have walked around a good portion of the complex and not encountered any waste problems. And those neighbors I have seen walking their dogs clean up after them. The people all seem nice, middleclass types. There's no hoodlums or strange foreigners from my experience. It has a very natural woods-ey look to the whole place. As a result of this nice setting, I have seen quite a few spiders in my apartment. No other bugs, just spiders interestingly enough.

The walls of the apartments are, indeed paperthin. The walls are indeed paperthin, but my neighbors are considerate and I have not really heard any of them despite this.

We have not had to make any maintenance requests, but on our initial move-in inspection we found a few items of concern. When we brought the form back to the leasing office they immediately sent someone back with us who rectified every issue.

The two big negatives which all prospective residents should be wary of is the fact that a waste treatment plant is literally 200 yards away. During the day you won't notice anything, but at night the smell by the units close to it is terrible. The other big negative is the long walks to the dumpster facilities, which are either not emptied with enough frequency or there simply isn't enough space for trash/recycling, because they're perpetually full.

All in all, the apartment itself is gorgeous, spacious, and affordable. The scenery and neighbors are nice. The amenities are good. And the staff helpful. Taken the negatives into consideration I'd say this community is a 4.0/5.0.
