Okay apartment...I'd keep looking...

Hunter's Chase looked very nice on the outside & the interior was okay when we first looked at the apartments, however once you're living here for awhile you'll see things aren't so great. I'm giving you as much detail as I can so I can help you in your search for a new apartment, so here is my review-both the bad & the good.

Bad: Electric bills are outrageous! The central A/C is very nice to have but it doesn't work well, it is always hot in the apartment unless you put the A/C on 65 degrees 24 hours/day during the summer. Water bills are higher than my sister's water bills & she owns a house! Dishwasher is extremely loud & takes over an hour to finish! The walls are paper thin & the apt is so poorly insulated that you can hear everything around you. The windows are old & are really hard to open. Blinds tare when you raise them a few times & from what I've read, they charge you for them at the end of your lease! Little cabinet space. The water treatment facility right next door stinks, especially in the summer. Cabinetry & flooring are very cheap but that's not a big deal for us. There are a ton of little kids at the pool all day so you can't lay by the pool & relax-I gave up on the pool.

Good: Maintentance comes quickly & they're all very nice, however they don't always fix the problem the first time. Washer & dryer are work well. Size of the apt is good. Location of complex is wonderful. It's surrounded by woods & there's a lot of shopping nearby. Closet space is good. If you opt not to have the fireplace you'll have a large outdoor storage closet. There's a walk-in closet in master bedroom, 1 hall closet, & 2nd bedroom has good-sized closet. Appliances although pretty old work well, except for the dishwasher. Most residents are nice, respectful people, however Hunter's Chase seems to be renting to a lot of really young & really gross people lately so I think that's going downhill. At one point we had to contact management regarding a problem neighbor, they were partying until 3am on a weekday. They completely ignored us, I've heard that happens a lot. That being said, management is not good at all. There's one girl who's nice but the rest of them are unresponsive to your needs & are usually rude & definitely are not on top of things. Especially the manager. We wrote them a letter stating that we weren't going to renew our lease next year, they sent us a letter acknowledging that & they have sent us 3 letters now asking if we're renewing our lease.

Anyway, we wouldn't rent here again if we had the chance, we'd rent at Mount Laurel Crossing which we looked at first-it's a lot newer & although the location isn't as good it's actually cheaper once you factor in the outrageous utilities & rent increases. Our rent started at $950 & is now at $1200! So your rent will jump- we did month to month once but they told us if we wanted to renew our lease & contiue with the month to month it would cost us an additional $200 a month on top of our regular rent, so you definitely won't want to do that. It's definitely not the worst apartment complex in the area, you can definitely live here & be content, but it's not the best either. You should really rent a condo or townhouse in the area-King's Grant has a lot of very nice modern condos for the same price which are A LOT nicer-that's where we're going!
