I thought my last place was bad. This one cannot get much worse. I moved here around Oct. 2004, and asked to do a walk-through before signing the lease. Felicia the apt. manager said to just come back and tell us what's wrong so we can fix it if there's anything wrong. LOL Wow, I should've known. Nice and professional until my name was signed for good. I walked back to the office after realizing that no one had cleaned anything at all in this place, only to find the inspector there (I moved in w/o a Certification of Occupancy) to make a few complaints which were assured to be taken care of. HA! I moved into filth. Blinds moldy, floors never washed/waxed/etc., dirty walls, ceiling fans, cracks in paint, sheet rock exposed, etc. I asked that day for a new fridge since the one here was manufactured and sold in 1981, not to mention the shelves were rusty, so was the top, and it was falling apart. Not to mention contained Freon(') and my electric bills aren't that feasible. The stove is a push button (like a blender) from 1983 and that too, is falling apart. Promised a fridge and new stove the 2nd day we moved in Oct. 2nd. Well, it's now April. Go figure. They recently installed electric dryers as per the twp. removing rights to allow propane powered dryers. While these morons were below my apt and others in our bldg, they cut a phone line that goes to my bedroom. They made the apt rattle and shake so much glasses fell and broke. The neighbors are ok here, some drunk, some loud some frequently both on weekends, but they will all attest to the same statement that nothing is ever done here. The walkways occasionally have good lighting at night after manintenance is forced to repair them. Potholes are extremely severe. My new car is already suffering with a rear left strut issue. No one plans on fixing them, God forbid. The office manager sends out stupid newsletters about recipes and not speeding. How about a newsletter with recipes on how to repair your home, and near impossible to speed with potholes. They are both druggies, her and her husband. Barrington was recently acquired from Home Properties, and now I can voice my complaints and concerns, before consulting with my attorney for further resolutions. Oh yea, the toilets are broken too, the faucets leak, and now since Oct., I've shelled out at least $2500 towards tools, repair kits, paint, anything that would help restore some decency to this apt. Last but not least, everything here is electric. Including the heat.. Don't move here! My electric bills for the winter averaged at a good $240, so I've learned to grow accustomed to debt. Bad draft from windows, and yes, you freeze at night. They say no pets, but everyone has a cat. Right now 1 BR $755 2 BR $855 Not worth it though.
