Okay, yes some people have had bed-bugs, but not everyone. It would be very difficult these days to find any apartment complex that had not, at some point, experienced these creatures. They are extremely hard to eradicate and there presence is not indicative of filth or squalor. For example, many luxury buildings in Manhattan report at least some residents having them.

That being said, the management at Matawan Station tries to do something about it. They have pest control services stop by once a month, and additional measures are taken if your apt. has evidence of bugs.

This complex is also very good about keeping good tenants and getting rid of bad ones. They seem to really care about who lives here and we have very much appreciated that. I do not think, as others have said, that the place is full of alcoholism and/or drugs. It is quiet and peaceful most of the time. Most people seem to be middle-class, working people. All whom I have met are quite nice and neighborly.

You can find more luxury and better amenities, but Matawan Station is a very nice, affordable home. Things are not perfect, but my expectations are more than met. We have lived here for over a year.

My husband & I are awaiting word on our app. for this complex, we don't want to call and be bothersome, however it's crunch time! Do you remember about how long they took to give you a response on your app. to become a tenant? Thanks for all the info above as well!
