I lived in SRW and am happy to be out of there. The apartment itself was nice - spacious, and had central air, a washer/dryer and dishwasher, however, the washer/dryer could MAYBE wash/dry 2 pairs of pants at most. The kitchen floor was IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean as it was that dull peel and stick stuff you usually see in office buildings. Constantly dirty! And this is what I loved (I'm being facetious)... The first floor apts were carpeted. The second and third floors were hardwood. And you had to make sure 80% of your floor was covered if you lived on the second or third floors. Ok, wouldn't it have made more sense to carpet the second and third floors and hardwood the first'' Who wants to cover 80% of a nice hardwood floor' I had a witch of a neighbor who would call the police on you if you made more than a peep. Snow removal' HA! You had to make sure you owned a shovel and remove the snow yourself. Try grocery shopping too when you live on the third floor... the front door locks and you have to walk up 3 flights of stairs... a long way up... especially in the summer where the halls are not air conditioned. Oh, and section 8 buildings are abundant. I must say, however, that the maintenance people were awesome... they'd come as soon as you called and were very very nice.
