I certainly hope people read this wesbite rating page, because SouthRidge is one of the worst apartment complexes in the state. Yes, they are a bit less expensive than most, but thats how they are able to keep rentals to the maximum levels. Maintenance fixes problems at their leisure, they left mat knives in the hallway where my children walk by everyday, buckets of cement are still in the hallway from an apartment that was vacated more than 6 months ago. If you own a snowblower, bring it with you...snow removal is horrible and I almost fell because of the ice on the outside step. The windows are terribly drafty and need to be covered with plastic in the winter or your heating bills will be quite high. NOISE IS A SERIOUS ISSUE! Other tenants going up and down the stairs pound and stomp, which can wake you up 3 rooms away in the bedroom. I live on the 2nd floor, of 3 floors, and the tenants above me let their kids run around, jumping off couches until after midnight at times, no insulation between the floors, and tenants do not carpet. The lease states that a tenant on the 2nd & 3rd floors must carpet at the least 70% of each room, but that rule goes unchecked by management and is not enforced. IF YOU WANT SOME PEACE & QUIET AFTER WORKING A LONG DAY OR WEEK, YOU WON'T GET IT AT SOUTRIDGE!! Lights on the outside buildings are out all the time, and without numerous calls to maintenance and management, they never get fixed. But, complain too much and they will retaliate..I've heard true stories and documentation! Parking used to be ok, but now if you come home after say 9 or 10pm, don't expect to get a parking spot anywhere near your apartment. Seems there are more than 2 people living to a one bedroom apartment, or more than 4 living to a 2 bedroom. The quality of people that have moved in has deterioted to the extent that I now find garbage thrown on my extremely small patio, tenants leave garbage along the sidewalks as they tote it to the already overcrowded dumpsters. If you're lucky enough to get an apartment that faces the woods, consider yourself blessed! If you live "on the parking lot", and I mean literally "ON THE PARKING LOT", expect tenants or guests to drive up blasting music from their vehicles at all hours of the day, especially after the bars close, bright lights shinging in your windows and car alarms and horns going off within 10 feet of your bedroom windows. The office staff are rude and unhelpful, and management is only available for a 2 hour period during the week, and that is usually by voicemail only. If you're not DESPERATE to rent anything, Don't pick southridge!!
