Generally nice but steep prices

My boyfriend and I live in the smallest one-bedroom (the Birch), but it's really too small for two people and two cats (less than 700 sq ft but we're paying $1050/month). The complex is very convenient to 295 though, making an easy commute to Trenton or Philadelphia. Aesthetically, the apartment is very nice (crown moldings, chair rails), but the quality leaves much to be desired. The carpet is definitely the apartment's worst feature -- cheap beige stuff that shows *every single spot*. The fake stucco walls are nice until you bump them or need to wipe them--off comes the paint. If you want to hang window treatments, there are no window frames and beware of steel studs--it's IMPOSSIBLE to hang curtain rods. The bathroom is a nice size and the washer and dryer is definitely a plus. The exercise room is nice but often overcrowded (especially after work). There's a lot of people here for corporate housing, so turnover is frequent (it's hard to build lasting friendships with your neighbors)--which may explain why people are so careless with their trash when they take it to the dumpster area. Maintenance is very responsive (fortunately, we haven't had much need), though we needed our refrigerator replaced and they mysteriously broke our garbage disposal during the same visit. We're currently a little worried about a recent onslaught of ants and an extended radon test. If you rent a 2nd or 3rd floor unit, you'll have to haul your furniture up the steps because there are no elevators.Beware of hefty rent increases and pet fees ($20 per animal per month), and don't ever be late with your rent--there's a $75 late fee, and you have to pay with a money order.
