If you're thinking of moving to avoid the yearly rent increases, be careful. They all raise rates at lease renewal time. In fact, if they want they can raise rents at any time. If you read your lease it states that the lease can be amended at any time by them. These apartment complexes have you coming and going. And I agree with the water running problem. Luckily you didn't get the apartment I was in. There was a sewage leak between apartments and when the wind blew the smell would come up through the holes in the wall into the apartment. The smell was so bad you would almost gag. And I would buy some surge protectors for your electronic equipment. The electronic surges are so bad they blew out my control panel on my microwave I had to throw it out. I was in the office when another tenant complained that his stero equipment was destroyed. I used to think it was one of the maintenance guys that destroyed my microwave until I heard that guy.
