Ramblewood village certainly has a lot to offer, water bugs, bats, bees, ants, broken down appliances that they hedge for weeks before replacing-peeling paint, crumbling ceilings leaking toilets and showers, mould in bathrooms & laundry room rotting flooring in kitchen, lack of heat for almost 1 week in winter as they refused to replace broken heater, screens with holes that never get repaired, windows that leak with every rain and neighbors who are allowed to keep the outside of their apartments like garbage dumps. Of course they will offer you a renovated unit if you will move out of your existing apartment(and incur that expense) add money to your existing security and pay an even steeper increase than the 12% the rent was upped this year. In fact they will do everything possible to convince you to get out of your unit so that they can rent it at an even higher price. When I moved here 12 years ago it was a pleasure to live here. The grounds were maintained, staff unusually helpful, snow was shoveled as soon as it fell and the walkways were immediately salted. Since Fairfield Management took over it is like living in a slum. It was hard to believe the first winter they were in control that no shoveling or salting was done for days. The old policy was that residents were contacted if the outside of their unit was untidy, now they rent to college students who leave trash and empty beer bottles strewn all over the lawn and no one seems to care. I do feel badly for the office staff as they are extremely kind and conscientious and it is easy to get the impression that they are not any longer proud to be a part of Ramblewood Village. I have had enough and will be out of here as soon as my lease is up. Save yourself the heartache of moving into a complex where the owners care about nothing except what they are putting in their pockets. My prediction is that in a few years they will not be able to attract renters or sell the deteriorating property. lots of luck to Fairfield! They deserve everything they get.
