Maybe for real people, this place might be bad, but for a college student, its a dream. I am paying less here than I was paying at my last house in NB. Many of the other places we looked at were more expensive, small, dirty and gross.
Comparably, this is affordable, huge, clean and perfect. Great views, right in the park, the largest living room ever in the 2 bedroom apts. Closet space up the yingyang. Fellow Rutgers students that have seen my place are in awe.
While 1840 might be a lot for a family, when split four ways 460 each is very cheap for the area.
A lot of parking and no problem getting a space. After ten pm, one might have to walk a bit to get to the building, but the lot is adequately lit, and the nice security guards do have cameras that zoom, if needed.
No, its not perfect. No roaches or anything disgusting, however. But the AC is horrible. It might as well not exist. Luckily this summer has been mild. I will update once we get to winter. Sorry maintanence guys, it doesnt really work. Also, it took 3 weeks to get a hanger pole for a closet. Special order the part' yeah right. I've noticed once that we didn't have hot water for a few hours. Once in 3 months is not horrible. Our sink in the kitchen backs up occasionally, but one time with the plunger fixes. Our bathroom sink has a little bit of a smell every few weeks, but a home remedy fixes that (vinegar).
While it might be expensive to some, I'd recommend it to 4 grad students to get. I seriously do not know what the other reviewers are talking about. I'm glad I didn't take their reviews wholeheartedly otherwise I wouldn't be living in the wonderful place that I am currently enjoying.
