I just recently went to the highlands website and i couldnt believe the unbelievable amount of false advertising i dont even know where they got some of the pics from...we have lived here for 3 years, paid exorbitant rent thinking we were getting all these "amenities" (for which there is a separate $500 fee by the way), the only reason we didnt move is because we thought we were leaving from the area twice so we waited out the lease and then it turned out we had to stay another year and we didnt want to move again for just one year...here are the specifics of what we've seen so far...;
1. the pool has been closed half of two summers cause it keeps leaking and needs to be re-cemented
2. due to the pool leakage there is a massive leak into the basement garage where the cars are parked..by massive i mean u could shower under it and the ceiling looks like its caving in from the weight of the pool above
3. this year alone there have been 5 different situations where they have interrupted our lives by requiring us to be home or not at home for various reasons...no other apt i lived at has done alarm checks, electric checks, garage power wash, etc all on different days it almost feels like every other month there is something going on for which we have to make sure we are home during the day or find parking for our car else where...my husband works at the hospital like many of the residents here and 1 entire week (7 days) they tested the fire alarms -sure this is a great thing right' who the heck needs the fire alarm going of repeatedly in ur apt 6-10 times during the day several days at a time when ur trying to sleep.
4. things that need repair or correction do not receive timely attention however when its time for lease renewal they call every number u have repeatedly.
5. they dont provide carts or some way of transporting groceries from the ground to the apt...but at the same time ur not allowed to leave ur own cart in the parking space ur assigned.
6. there are exactly 6 parking spots for visitors out of hundreds of people that live here and they tow the car anywhere else u put it. the so called free parking across the street is only free after 7pm at night till 8 am so if u have guests they have to get up at 8 am and move their car ...and where do they move it' god only knows
7. they constantly block the only temporary parking spot by the buildings where u could park to off load ur groceries or cargo and then ask u to move if u've been there for a few minutes
8. there are no grocery stores nearby except the c-town which is near the projects
9. the gym never has water even though they are constantly being asked and told that the water cooler is empty
10. the so called sauna has been out of commission
...basically everything is much harder than it needs to be and u would think that with the amount of rent u pay its worth it...well its not...live anywhere else in new brunswick there are plenty of places...the only thing good about this place is that the two concierges they have joy and the other girl are so nice so efficient so great at their jobs but they are fighting a losing battle cause they dont control things.

I have to agree with the numerous "Entries" management must do once or twice a month. I've never had anyone enter my apartment as much as The Highlands Management has. One time they maced my 12 lbs dog because they entered our apartment without warning and I didn't have him in his crate. Their excuses range from water pressure testing, alarm testing, window washing, appliance checks, etc
