The apartment my husband and I currently live in is decent. We have a two bedroom duplex. We keep it very clean which keeps the roaches down. The only reason we continue to live here is that the rent is cheap for a two bedroom in New Brunswick.

Our biggest problem with this place is the maintenance and neighbors. In winter the heat was so high we had to keep all the windows open. The management controls the heat which they keep pumping throughout the entire season. Luckily we don't pay for heat. The water is shut down at least once every two weeks due to construction on Route 18. Which is fine but the office gives only about 12 hours of notification before doing this. We have had two sewage leaks since living here. The second time was on a weekend and no one in maintenance would come to help. We had to call them about five times before they came. Thankfully we were home. I had to empty the sink which was backed up, with a pot and dump it out the window for an hour to prevent the entire kitchen from flooding.

Not all the neighbors are horrible however some of them are very inconsiderate blasting car stereos in the parking lot at 3 in the morning during the week and leave beer bottles and trash all over the lawn. The kids are all over the place, which is fine because they are kids. There is not playground for them so they end up in everyone??s yard screaming at all hours. They run around the parking lot and bang on cars and garages. There is plenty of parking on the street. Guests need a visitors permit to park during the week. Unfortunately the guests of our neighbors don??t want to park on the street and they park in the parking lot in front of the garages or block other cars in that are in valid parking spots. Many times our garage and our neighbor??s garages are blocked, not something you want to come home to deal with at 10 at night. The office and maintenance are responsible for calling the towing company, but this is never done, so people are often unable to get into their garages (which are an extra $60 a month) or out of their parking spots.

The actions of the neighbors, their lack of respect, and the irresponsibility of the office and maintenance make this pace very ghetto. I wouldn??t live here unless on a budget and were able to deal with the above issues.
