Be Prepared for the Worst Apartment Experience You'll Ever Have

There are so many problems with this apartment building that I do not even know where to start.

I moved here in May of 2007. I was told that every unit here is assigned 1 parking spot here, 6 months into my lease, they still did not give a parking spot, the management office said "they're working on it." (This is totally unfair by the way because some of the tenants here have assigned spots) Meanwhile, my car was towed 3 times because I had did not have an assigned spot and had to park in areas that were either not real spots or were others' spots. (Of course, the management office refused to reimburse me for the cost of towing, that's no even taking into consideration that work days I had to miss to pick up my car. They said that if they reimburse me, they'll have to reimburse everyone in the building. This just shows that they KNOW that this situation happens to many of the tenants here and they just don't give a ----!) I kept complaining so they finally (half a year after I moved in!) they gave me a spot.

Last month, there was a problem here, certain apartment units had leaks, and they had to go into other people's units (that did not have leaks) to research the problem, so they came into my apartment twice WITHOUT informing me that they were coming in (no notes, no calls). My apartments had no leaks, and I came home twice within one week to find all the materials in my bathroom misplaced! I was irate that they came in here twice without even letting me know what the hell they were doing here. I complained to the management office, explained that next time I want to be called BEFORE anyone enters my apartment. So the management office called me one day when I was away on vacation and asked for my permisson to come in the apartment to fix the problem, I gave them permission. When I returned from vacation, I came home to find my apartment door WIDE OPEN, those idiots forgot to lock my door after entering, leaving it WIDE OPEN FOR 2 WHOLE DAYS!!!
The moral of the story is that this place is managed by people who are incompetent and really don't give a ----. Everyday is a new problem, if you complain, the same problem will probably not happen again, but trust me, new ones will keep coming to keep you occupied!

By the way, the people who wrote in the past reviews that "they've been here for years and the management team here is great"; these tenants are just used to bad treatment! The things I'm complaining about are EVERYDAY occurrences, you decide if you want to put up with it like those people who's lived here forever!

What the writer didn't comment on was highly visible drug use and trafficking that goes on here. People roam through and hang in the halls and backstairwells from the neighborhood ( home of the former projects), and security here is not enough considering who lives and visits here. What used to be a beautiful building in a great location is now nothing more than a bank account for the latest owners.Although there are some really fine people living here, many empty apartments have been filled with subsidized tenants/section 8s, some of whom are really rude, wild and scary. The government apparently is willing to pay top dollar for apartments that the private market would not. This building right now under the present management is not one to move in.They apparently loosened their standards for too long, and what could have, should have and might have been a nice place with nice people is anything but. It's a shame because apartments are really nice.Perhaps one day they will tear it down and start over or maybe on eday they will get a competent and professional team that will put this place back together. Do not move in! You will regret it. You will be counting the days you can get out of your lease. You were warned.
