The rent and the quality of these apartments is not bad for the expensive Bergen County, NY metro area. Still, you get what you pay for. POSITIVES: I never hear the next door neighbors, and upstairs isn't too bad with noise. Safety has never been a problem for apartments, cars or the whole neighborhood. Convenient (walking distance) to a bus stop, shopping center, pizza/chinese/donut places and banks. Also close to Fairly Dickenson University.
NEGATIVES: The kitchens are the WORST design I've ever seen and barely useable. Snow plowing stinks (always late and never efficient)! The heat is unpredictable and erratic. We have had the occasional insect (roaches AND waterbugs). There is plenty of parking overall, but can be a hike if you don't get it in time. The laundry room is a mess (at least the one in my area) and always riddled with problems and broken machines. Maintenance is SLOWW and lazy!
They are small, cramped and somewhat inconvenient, but the neigborhood does make up for it. It beats having to find a tiny apt. in a high rise in Patterson for more money and less safety. Not a place I'd live for long, but not bad for college students, first apartments or a place to stay while saving money.
