Actually very cool. Contrary to the last reviewer, it's very quiet once you're in the building. Of course there's noise outside, it's downtown in a "major" city. I've been here over a month and haven't heard one fire alarm. Staff is super friendly almost too friendly and all the tenants seem happy and friendly as well. The gym is great and the bowling alley and basketball court are a blast. The building is 2 blocks from Market and Broad which looks like an urban business strip in New York on most afternoons. This may frighten some who are not prepared but the people who shop there don't seem to migrate down to Raymond or Commerce for that matter. I think Market and Broad gives the area a little character. Parking is the only stresser. If the parking situation was better, this place would be perfect. If you don't have a car and use public transpo then this place is for you. If you have a car and have figured out a cool parking situation (like myself, can't give away secret) then you're 15 minutes or less from everything, major malls, New York, fun etc. Downtown Newark isn't really that bad. Not much nightlife but not as dangerous as advertised. 7-8 blocks in any direction is another story. If you're not a total wuss, give it a look.

The fire alarms only impact people who work from home or don't work during the day during weekdays. It is ongoing fire alarm testing that has been going for a full year now and was happening on average once every other week. It is always between 9am and 4pm but can last for several hours. It is also very bad for the large number of dogs that live in this building and cannot leave when they are left home alone and may go through several hours of fire alarms so loud that they make me lose my equilibrium at times. If you never are home during the working day and you don't have a pet then the alarms are inconsequential to you but if you plan to use your home as a place to be during days off from work, to work from home or just a place to go during the day you may find that the alarms are a significant impact to your life.
