PROS: I go to school in Newark and I have to say living here beats any other apartment building available and certainly beats driving on the parkway every morning.

The staff is wonderful and will help you with anything you need.

It is great to have a full gym in the building.

The apartments are beautiful and as far as the noise you just have to consider what side of the building you live because it can be noisy at times but it is the downtown area of a city.

Broad and Market is an interesting intersection but I have never had a problem there day or night.

Newark becomes lonely after 6 o'clock but the opening of the Prudential Center has helped somewhat with that. Those who are calling downtown Newark the "ghetto" have obviously never lived in a city.

I feel very safe in the building and I simply use good judgement when walking back from the station very late at night.
CONS: Bars, restaurants, and shopping in the immediate area is pretty scarce but I have already seen improvements so we are hoping for more.

The valet ($160 per month) is not too bad during the week but beware on the weekends.

When they say ten minutes, it means 30 and it is best to go down and check to make sure anyone even got your keys at all.

You do have to pay for the gym (35$ a month- cheap but for this rent it should be included) and the aerobics classes stink.

Electric is not included in the "utilities" so count on another 60-100 dollars per month added on to your rent.
Bottom line- if you have a reason to live in Newark (school, a commute directly to WTC or 34th & a need for a larger space) this place is great.

The rent is too expensive for the current state of the city but I looked at the same type of apartment in Hoboken and it was $2400 a month plus $300 for parking.
