In general, the building is great and everything works just fine. But when something does go wrong - forget it. The in-building staff isn't bad, I actually like them. It's the Cogswell Management Company that is HORRIBLE to deal with. You'll get a bunch of "Yes" answers and then nothing is done. Usually they don't even respond to emails or phone calls. We've had a persistent issue since we moved into our 2 bedroom and NOTHING has been done. Not to mention, $200/month for parking and $450/year for the gym'! Plus $25/month for a storage unit'! Please. Live in the union bldg where you at least get what you pay for - 1180 is a rip off.

These people need to start a Tenants Association. No need to reinvent the wheel. Just join Newark Tenants United. See www.newarktenantsunited.org. The group is actively looking for more affiliates, and is currently in the process of bringing in The Colonnade. Go to this website, you'll see every building has its own webpage within the system. There is contact information and phone # to reach someone.

My husband & I were among the first tenants to move onto 1180 when the building was ready for occupency. We love the building & our residence, the building manager is always around to say hello and take care of any requests or problems. The building staff is friendly, always ready to help out and always professional. If a problem comes up (rarely) the response is as quick as humanly possible. It's really difficult for me to understand why someone would experience so many problems. Maybe some folks are just very hard to please. Ty
