When I first came to see the apartment in 402 I thought all this unfinished work meant it was being renovated, but later I came to find out, by experience and speaking to other residents the building has been in this condition for months or years prior to my moving in. There was a water pipe that broke inside the walls in my apartment causing mold and damage to two rooms and it took a whole month to get fixed. property managers did not respond to my calls, maintenance did not respond and after writing letters and calling the management they also did not respond. They only take notice when you don't pay your rent then want to evict you for it 3 months later. Then 2 months later the same thing happens again because it wasn't fixed properly the first time and I am still waiting. I have seen roaches and mice, the ac and the heat work when they want to. something is always wrong with this place and broken and nobody cares. People get stuck in the elevators, when they are supposedly working. you have to walk up flights and flights of stairs because of the 2 elevators 1 works some of the time. The laundry facility is nasty and dirty, the washers are old and don't work. There's a dryer that you had to put a magazine wedged between the door and machine just to keep it closed while your clothes dried. There is no security. Last week or so a girl got jumper right inside the doorway just after they took out the lazy " security" people they had sitting at the door watching tv and talking on the phone not paying any attention to anything. I asked for a parking space when I moved in and have yet to receive one and its been 8 months. there is no room on the street to park, no handicap accessible ramps into the building, the door locks suck and need to be updated. I like the size of my apartment and the actual price is not so bad with all utilities included, but that too is changing come october when heat and electric will not be included in the rent. But I won't be here that long, its not worth all the problems that come with the apartment, the management, and the maintenance.
