Invest in glue traps, foam sealant, and a cat before moving in. I've seen so many mice in my unit that I should've paid a pet deposit. The roaches aren't as big of a problem as some might suggest, and the exterminator usually comes by monthly. However, mice are a constant nuisance. I recently pulled one out of the bathroom vent over my tub. I can hear them running inside the heating vent on a near constant basis, which is quite unnerving.
