Avoid it like the plauge. The mice live better than I do

I absolutly detest this place. Everything that has been said about the awful smells, the bugs and the mice is true. I am a very clean person, and no matter how many ways I try to clean this dump it still never looks any better. My apartment faces the sun continunally and since there is no air circulation, my apartment heats up to around 90 degrees in the winter, and about 110 in the summer. The crime here is getting worse, they are now employing a FULL time cop. The neighborhood is terrible. I went out for Chinese food the other night and the following happened:
-Heard a drug dealer talk about how great his business was doing "up the hill" (The Pavilion)
-A screaming crackhead came by, screaming in my face to buy a $20 sweatsuit he was trying to sell
-I was asked for change 3 times, the third person would not leave me alone.
The security at this place is a complete joke, eventhough they have started enforcing the policy of using your key or presenting ID to enter the lobby. There is ONE helpful person in the rental office. On the flip side the other three people are useless, including the overweight --------american woman who things that shes God's gift to the planet, she is a COMPLETE b**ch. Shut your mouth and do your job you waste of life. The garbage rooms are in violation of probably EVERY health code there is. The cable box is kept in that room as well, so pretty much anyone with the knowledge can steal your cable. The reason the elevators never work is because the buildings management company, Garden State Equities, never pays the bill. My apartment is starting to have structual problems. There are two LARGE cracks forming in the walls. The cabinets are falling apart. The way they solve everything here is just to paint over it using the cheapest paint they can find. And its a terrible paint job too. I have a "large studio" apartment and the rear wall is floor to ceiling windows. Normally this would be a good thing except the blinds that come with the apartment are terrible, which would be the reason it gets so hot in here. The outside of the windows is NEVER cleaned and the windows are badly stained so its basically an eye sore to look at. My refridgerator is terrible, as is my stove. My bathroom looks like something out of a POW camp. The light fixtures are outdated and in fire code violation. The stairs smell like death and many days theyre your only way to get out of the building. Its taken them 5 months so far to repave the parking lot and put up a new fence, in the meantime multiple cars have been broken into. The noise from 280 is unbelieveable but its nothing compared to the constant sound of the police cars racing to the housing projects that can be seen from my apartment. The fire alarm goes off at random intervals so theres no way to know whether theres an acutal emergency or not. I was told by the rental agent who leased me my apartment that my smoke detector was wired to the central fire system. That was just an outright lie, the reason I know this is because I accidently knocked it off the wall and its just a standard ordinary fire alarm. The last time the fire system in the halls was inspected was in November of 96. The carpet is cheap and it comes up in clumps from ordinary traffic. The tile in the kitchen is linolium thats probably original, making it approximately 40 years old. A little history about the building:
-Up until 7 years ago it was a housing project with only 1 or 2 residents paying rent
-Combined with the housing projects that were across the street, the Newark cops CONSTANTLY did drug sweeps.
-The building has been cited literally 100's of times for health and fire code violations.
2 months ago a prostitute was arrested in front of the building.
I could go on for pages at length about how bad this place is, especially for the price tag, so dont move here, dont do it.
