i personally thought this place was not my style (i like high rises), but a couple of my friends really liked it when they saw it:
cons: -my place was pretty dirty when I got it. ceiling was cracked, floor was dirty -everything is pretty old... -hot as hell during summer, expensive to use A/C unit.
pros: they've been upgrading some stuff around here, i.e. public door ways, etc. and that's good. also, the maintenance people and front desk people have been really friendly. i sent in a call about a pile of dirt in one of the parking spots in front of my apartment, and that got taken care of the next day. washer dryer in my closet was good. and finally, there's always parking.
other then that, you get what you see. a rustic/old/dirty/spacious apartment for 1200 for a 1 br. in general, i'm kind of negative about the place because i really like high rise apartments more, but one of my friends, who likes this style, says it's the best apartment that any of his friends have....
so if you like this style, i say go for it.
i'm about to move out..we'll see how much of my deposit they return....

Also, I wanted to add - I'm surprised you are saying "lets see how much of the security deposit they return". You say you've had positive experiences with management etc, so why would you expect anything less? It seems that your dislike in the complex/apartment has more to do with your personal preference - which you said you didn't even want to live there in the first place. I agree with your friends - this complex is one of the nicest I've seen for this price anywhere in New Jersey.

well, i'm worried because previous posts on this site have complained about how little money they've had returned. being nice about maintenance issues, and returning money are different, and the management could act less kindly when dealing with giving money back.
