The apartment by itself is pretty good. I got lucky and got a completely rehabbed apartment so everything was brand new.

Pros:
1. New clean apartment with new appliances and fixtures (it's new, but you can see that the fixtures and appliances are pretty cheap, nowhere near top of the line!)
2. Cheap rent
3. Good location

Cons:
1. The crowd (your neighbours) is not from the upper middle income group. I must admit, sometimes the people walking around look kind of trashy. I have a friend living in nearby Hidden Lake apartments and I can clearly see the difference in the demographic.
2. The management is just AWFUL. They never return calls and there's a lot of screw ups with rents and leases etc.
3. The laundry room is just absolutely filthy. I don't understand how people can use to clean their clothes!

Bottom line: If you want a cheap apartment and you're not gonna be around a lot and don't really care about the neighbours, then go for it.

I have lived at the North Brunswick Manor for six months, and I agree 100% with your statements. I knew the first week that this place was not for me. I tend to be quiet and respectful, unfortunately some of my neighbors do not have those qualities. This is the good and bad that I have gathered in my six months: (1)The upstairs apartments include all utilities but electric. It is a pretty nice deal. I received one of the fixed up apartments too, but the problem is that I share the main door with a neighbor. At the top of the steps their door is on one side and my door is on the other side. The biggest problem with that is that you will hear everything in that hallway. It is very annoying. (2)The apartment complex has a shuttle service that is great if you need to take the train. The shuttle has a fixed schedule. (3)Who ever made this apartment building did not bother to soundproof. I feel that that walls are too thin. (4)A lot of people do look trashy outside, but oddly enough I do feel safe. (5) The grounds are usually taken care of once a week, but it seems that people here do not clean up after themselves. This results in litter scattered around the buildings. (6)If you love to hear bass from music...this is your place! (7)Middlesex management that runs the place offers an option to pay your bill online which is very convenient. (8) Lots of rules on the lease seem to be broken. (9) The windows and doors are horrible. Very drafty! (10) Never had a problem finding a parking spot. (11) The dog security deposit is $1000(non-refundable) pet rent! (12) If you have a cat... you can get away with not paying any pet fees. I hope this helps someone. I'm not really happy here, but I tried my best to not give any biased statements.
