Ok Madison Arms is not the place you want to rent at. This was our first apartment and we got duped. When we looked at the apartment we were shown a nicely remodeled apartment and what we got was a disgusting mess. when we moved in the carpets weren't cleaned nor was the apartment prior to move in (it was GROSS) like pubic hairs in the bathroom vanity! had to complain and they came back over and did a bad wipe down still no carpet cleaning.

the bathroom was so bad you couldn't help but laugh. it was a bath-fitter job gone bad. the original tub and tile must have been a mess so they attempted to cover it over, but the bath-fitter was about 2 inches too small on each side so they had to make it fit. and the original cabinet that holds the sink was laden with urine as well as the walls around the toilet!

Very nice management on site except that smile and nod but do not do anything to fix any problem. Its really too bad.

Aside from our very disturbing start. The actual apartment is a little small. The kitchen needs more counter top space. You do get a dishwasher, but you will have to use a laundry mat no one knows where the "on-site" laundry room is. Laundry on 9 is a good place and has wash and fold.

We have a dog but make sure if they tell you it is ok to get it in your LEASE. They told us verbally and then it became a problem and they said well in the lease it says no pets. Everyone has dogs and cats and then there are the outside stray cats.

The grounds used to be well maintained but have slowly went downhill. Lots of trees and grass which add to the bug problem. Silver fish (million leggers) are prevalent as well as large ants and spiders.

It was a good learning experience for us and it taught us what to look for and ask prior to move in. But now we definitely know better than to stay at Madison Arms.

Thankfully in my case they showed me a filthy Apt when I went there to have a look. It was exactly what you described and hence I made my decision of not renting there.
