We have call the super more then three times and its been a month and half that
the air conditioning was not fixed. It was an awful experience living for that long
and having to deal with at least 90 degrees in our room during the summer month.
The super gets personal and speaks to you in a white trash tone to inform you that its not an emergency. Additional, when heating was not working they would mention that its not an emergency and that they would will check it at there convience. When they finally kind of fixed the heat the airconditioning was broken. Interesting how you pay them rent on time for all this time and yet they treat you inhumanely. It would be helpful for the super to stop coming in drunk and curse at you when you want them to check the ariconditioning or heating. Finally, the management are mean when it comes to your security deposit. They would make up all the claims and not even let you check the place to ensure the accuracy of their statment. The walk thru if there is any would have to be at the supers convience. When you call and talk to different people about your case you get different answers. After all, you feel like you are being taken advantage off blindly, which leads to the following conclustion:

Further investagtion regarding how the super and management treat people
who pay rent in pine gate apartments should be persued.

How would you feel when you are blindly taken advantage off and
what legal action would you persue if any'

I live here and I completely feel the same way! They are out to steal your money, not help when you DO have an emergency, and will manipulate the situation to make it seem like it's your fault and and never fix the problem. They should absolutely be investigated. I lived in Irvington and had better management that this. They are horrible rude people who need to learn and act professional especially in a people business. They throw the "talk to the lawyer" threat around too if you do try to talk to them about getteing your problem fixed. They are inhuman and should be investigated for improper treatment of paying residents and idle threats, as well as manipulating situations and never fixing problems for paying residents....especially emergencies!

Let me give you some advice here. This is very easy to handle but you must be diligent in your paperwork and notes. When you have a problem with your apartment you will need to write a letter and send it to them by certified mail. You need to do this 1x a week for 3 weeks. Be sure to keep a copy of the letter you wrote and the certified mail receipt with there signiture. In between the letters you should call 1x a week and make a record of the call Ie: Conversation, whom you spoke to etc. Be sure to put the date and time you called. If nothing happens after the 3 weeks of certified letters and calls, send another certified letter stating that you will not be paying your rent until your problem is addressed and fixed. I know this sounds scary but it's the only way that these bastards will learn. After a while of not getting paid, they are going to file for eviction. Believe it or not this is what you want to happen. Wait for yopur court date and bring all of your evidence on tennent abuse with you. You will not be evicted and the judge will force the owners to fix the problem. In most cases the judge may offer you damages and may not make you pay a penney for the months you suffered. What they are doing is againts the Law and you must fight them in court. Please go online and google NJ Tennents rights. You would not believe the rights you have as a tennent. If I can help any of you please e-mail me at noelg1970@aol.com. Good Luck
