I like Rutgers Village. The downstairs neighbor freaks me out and his smoking, yelling, and loud music is a bit of a bother when he's at it, but the neighborhood itself is very quiet and I feel safe living there and being there alone when the roommate is gone. Maintenance isn't horrible. We had a mold issue on the ceiling, and maintenance got rid of it shortly after. They did an awful paint job and made a mess, but I was just happy it was done so quickly. Parking is great unless it's late at night. The bug situation disgusted me when I moved in in October. There were several house centipedes. Luckily they just stick to the walls and floor instead of belongings. However, the landlord was wonderful about sending the exterminator. The apartments are decently priced, so I can't really complain. They're much better than the neighboring complexes. I recommend them to one who doesn't have really high expectations and is more concerned about saving money. Bugs are common in older garden apartments.
