Decent place for the money

My boyfriend and I have lived here coming up on a year now. Out of all of the places we looked at to rent in Parsippany (and we looked at them all), Rutgers Village was the nicest place to live for the money we were looking to spend. The apartments are in decent shape if you get one that has been recently updated. The grounds are nice, but the landscaping could be better. The parking is sufficient and I never have trouble finding a space close to my apartment even when I come home after 6pm.
The staff is generally nice, but they do take their time with repairs. In the winter it takes them almost all day to clear the snow from the lots, front steps, and sidwalks; and they do not salt as much as they should. I have slipped a few times on ice walking to my apartment. Most of the repairs to the apartment we have done ourselves since it is easier. We also had an incident where they allowed the town to come in an inspect our apartment without giving us prior notice. The office told us that they sent out notices, yet non of my neighbors had gotten a notice as well.
The bathrooms do not have an exhaust fan, so get use to showering with the window open because you will see mold growing in your bathroom if you don't. The apartments are not soundproof by any means. Depending on the neighbors you get, you will most likely hear their every step and what they are watching on TV, even if you have an upstairs unit.
We will not be renewing our lease because of personal reasons, but they did not raise our rent when we received our renewal notification. All in all, the apartments are decent in size and the amenities are good for the price you pay; keeping in mind that these are not luxury apartments.
