The apartments are very spacious and comfortable. The construction is horrible and very unstable, constructed with the cheapest materials. Management does not care about the tenants or the environment, they are only interested in making money. Not only is there a lot of section 8 families who don?t care about the property, but also youth group homes and special needs adult group homes are included in this development.



The children are COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL and very DISTRUCTIVE. You wonder if they have parents.



It really is too bad that management dosen?t care enough about this development because it has a lot of potential. The Mayor of Perth Amboy is trying to redevelope Perth Amboy into a very interesting place to live. BUT HARBORTOWN is defeating the Mayor?s purpose, because they are letting any, and every kind of persons to live in this complex. Soon, or I should say, it is a high rent housing project. I have been here for 2 1/2 years and all of the decent people are moving out and a very horrible element is moving in, and Harbortown is still building as the crazy kids tear down what is already finished. My family and I will be heading out of here within the next few weeks. I won?t even comment on the noise level from my neighbors and the breeze way where the kids constantly hang out or the damage to the automobiles.



My advice is to STAY AWAY.

I am in Law Enforcement. I've had many interactions in Harbortown. I've investigated many acts of vandalism, burglary, etc. There are some nice families in HT, but I think they are there only because they were "hoodwinked" into believing that it was going to be a nice neighborhood.It appears this is the new Stockton & Huntington Sts. & is a cancer that is also going to affect the other residential projects along the waterfront. In the future you can expect less than desirable people living in close proximity in cluster housing causing criminal activity & mayhem. I do not recommend that anyone wanting to raise a family, do it in Perth Amboy. Also check out the School District, it is an Abbott district.
