We saw the place in the daytime during school hours & looked ok.
1st night we moved in some thugs sat on the back of my husband's car & wouldn't let us back out- then made gestures at us.
Later that week we were startled by 10 cars pulling up with guys jumping out w/ crowbars/basball bats/chains...like something you see in a movie.
Weekends are great fun: The local lollipop gangsters plug their stereos outside and proceed to hump each other (dance sex simulation) for hours on end. Your walls shake and you can't hear your own tv.
Clouds of pot smoke waft into your baby's bedroom as he sleeps.
The children stand, jump, and sit on your cars- ours have had the tires slashed upteen times, been keyed, had basketballs and rocks thrown at it.
The playgrounds have glass and drug bags in them and graffiti.
The neighbor next door had the federal agents & local police swarm our building and kick his door in---he was our friendly neighborhood drug dealer.
There is pitbulls if you're a dog lover!!
The security drives right through and never stops...never questions anyone.
Cars race through the parking lots.
I can't even let my child out to play- other than the tiny balcony.
All winter the drafts through the cheap windows blew my heavy curtains...and the floor was like ice.
They haven't painted in I dunno how long as the whole place is white patches of spackle.
Oh yes and for a month in the summer we had a chemical leak through our walls that was so intense we thought it was a gas leak...they were shalacking the floors and forgot to open the windows for ventilation. whooops!
Yeah that pretty much sucked.
The lovely smell of the pollution from the Hess refinery drifts into our windows every morning. So gross. This is the armpit of New Jersey...Carteret to Perth Amboy.
Do yourself a favor and spring the extra 100/200 bucks and move to Edison or Woodbridge.
We cannot wait to take the Perth Amboy police off our speed dial and hightail it the hell out of this Nightmare.
Asbury Park/Lakewood/Jersey City would be a better move than here- just to give you an idea.
Digusting. Revolting. Annoying. Aggravating. Pathetic. Awful. Gross. Nasty.
These words don't even do justice to describe our feelings.
I am wondering how much of our security they will be stealing from us when we leave.

Every time I pull up to my "home" I get anxiety and wanna puke.
I have cried multiple nights.
