The Bad Reviews were all true!!!

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I actually lived in Harbortown Ports for a year from 2007 until 2008 and our neighbors behind us and beside us were a big disappointment. The first couple next to us had a young daughter and the teenagers would drive their cars in the parking lot garage area and have sex right out in the open which can be seen from the everyones windows. I took pictures of this and wrote letters to the main office in Woodbridge, but recieved no response. No one cared and there we were paying $1,465.00 per month. Needless to say most tenants were on section 8, however myself and partner was and are not. Every cent of our money came from working hard each day in New York City. I was disgusted over the fighting, loud music and the fact security who supposedly secured the area was a joke. Bad experiences are found everywhere and this I know, but for the money you pay to rent at Harbortown Terrace or the ports I strongly suggest you consider moving elsewhere!!! When we did decide to move, the office took over 3 months to return our security deposit unlike it was when we moved in. You had to have ALL the money upfront and we didn't even get the opportunity to do a walk thru of the unit we wanted to move in. They just wanted the money and gave us a floor plan. It was a bad choice on our part, but you can imagine how excited you are when moving into a new place. You just want to get it going and over with. It's like a new beginning. The carpet was ripped in the main entrance when we moved in, however when moved out, the amount to repair the carpet was taken out of our security deposit. During the time we were there we had numerous problems with the heating unit which froze during most of the winter! It was a nightmare. If Harbortown provided a year of FREE rent due to the problems we encountered during this dreadful experience living there, we still would move out and even quicker. I have since purchased a condo and much happier. I miss the balcony on Harbortown Terr. where it gave a view of the ARthur Kill and the small pond in front of the unit, but that's about it. All the conveniences of having a 2 car garage was good only when the neighbors behind us would park in front of it delaying us from getting our cars out when having to be at work. The convenience of a washer and dryer.yes, but the stackables are hardly large enough to wash a full size blanket. It's more the size that should be in a studio apartment. To bring a family to this is truly a waste of money and time, but not everyone experience were similiar to mine. I just felt it was important to respond and share this as well because the bad reviews read on here are actually true. None made up and I'm living proof!!! Good luck
