To be truthful... when I read the other reviews, I couldn?t believe how much they sounded like my own thoughts about this place.

Positives: Spacious apartments and nice floorplan. I will miss that when I move. It?s also extremely close to the highway. It only takes me 25-30 minutes to get to Newark. Menlo Park Mall and Woodbridge Mall are both 10-15 minutes away. If you are of Latin or Caribbean decent, downtown Perth Amboy is full of shops to buy groceries that will make you feel at "home". The development is not that noisy, in general, and it?s nice to take a walk around the complex during the summer.

Negatives:

There is a layer of grime that is beginning to cover the roofs and walls (from the weather, I?m sure). It?s starting to look dirty. The workmanship is crappy-- paint chipping and screws falling out were common place during the first couple of months. The walls are paper thin-- someone burped next door, and it sounded so loud, that I almost bet my room mate money that it was her!

The paint is ridiculously cheap. Rain water got on the wall in my room by the window. When I went to wipe it off, I also wiped off the paint, revealing the sheetrack beneath!

The kids behave as though they have no home training. Last Holloween, I did a 180 at my door, when some trick-or-treaters practically stampeded my door down. They were cursing at each other and fighting over who was first in line. They?ve broken everyone?s peep hole, and the management had to send a memo around to residents begging them to curb their destructive children.

And last, but not least, there is a chemical plant of some sort right along the side of the development. We couldn?t even SEE it until they recently removed the huge dirt hill that used to block it. Suddenly, I don?t want to drink the water. Suddenly I want a blood test.



If you?re single, come on down.

If you have a family and you?re not interested in watching the property value sink, don?t bother coming.
