Expensive but better then the surrounding places

Yes this place is expensive. One of the most expensive in the area. But it is also one of the best equipped. You will not find a place around here with the same quality or features.. period.

The parking lots are pretty big. Plenty of spaces for everyone. I have heard from cops that there is a higher rate of auto theft near the apartments near the exits as compared to the center. Most of the tenants are young people, professionals, and some ethnic families. People generally keep to themselves. It was rare that there were any problems.

The apartments in general are well taken care of.. very modern. They have hardwood floors which you have to put carpet on when you move in (they don't really tell you that until you move in). Central Air and Heat. You pay all your own utilities. The balconies are pretty much useless as they are too small for anything really.

There are four floor plans.. single bedroom single floor, two bedroom one floor, and two variations of a two floor two bedroom duplex (one bigger then the other). I had the large duplex and it was very roomy for two people.

The walls are not too thick and you can hear somewhat if your neighbors are playing music or watching TV. This is even true with the duplex apartments which start on the 2nd floor. You can hear the 1st floor apartment at night. Its not bad.. but it isn't silent either.

They say that pets are not allowed but I did have Guinea Pigs and they seamed to not care. I also saw a few people with cats.

I never had any problems with the management or the appliances. Whenever something broke they took care of it right away. They also gave good attention to a tub leak I had.

One big thing to watch out for is the mosquitoes. If your apartment is near the fence where the woods are you will be hit with them as soon as you go out your door. Imagine a black cloud of bugs headed toward you.. that is pretty much what it is like. This happens in May to June.. by then the spraying the town does has done its job and there are no more for the rest of the year. The Passaic river is only a few hundred feet from the property.

One other thing is the condition of the dumpsters. Dumpsters are all over the place and each is kept in a gated enclosure. People generally act like they don't care and leave their garbage all over near them. Some open the gate and leave the garbage on the floor. If the dumpster fills up people just keep tossing stuff in the enclosure regardless. It can get very nasty. I can't say that it is a problem that bothers you when you get in your apartment.. its not like you can smell it from there.

Be mindful of the lease. If you have to move out early you will be responsible for rent up to your lease end date, or until they find someone to move in. I had to move out early because I bought a house and I ended up paying for several months. They showed no real interest in finding someone new to move in.
