My wife & I have resided here for 8 years, and we have seen lots of people come & go. Many of which whom were satisfied & content, and others who were not pleased with the way the complex was run & who was running it. I have had my issues with the management, and the way they have run things here throughout the years. I was somewhat displeased that they removed security from the guard shack in the front of the complex, as I thought that a secured gated community was stand out, and also gave most tennants a safer & more secured feeling. However, I was told that the complex could no longer afford to maintain such a specialty, thus it was removed. The rent has continuously increased, and the services & perks have dwindled away to almost nothing. The membership fees that are charged for both the pool and the gym are very extravagant. Thought comes to mind about how management & office personnel respond to some of the views & opinions of the residents, mostly in a negative, uncaring manner. When I first moved here in July - Aug. of 2000, I enjoyed the management and office staff that worked here. Not so much as to complain about anything, but it felt as though they were concern about you & how things in & around the complex were being cared for. I have had my run ins with the current management, and have often found her concern to be a "don't give a damn, just pay your rent" attitude. During my tenure here at Chalet, I have not been the greatest tennant in the world either. Many times I have had my share of financial dilemmas and lateness in paying my rent. I have never had an issue of paying any court costs, lates, or any other charges that were imposed. "Grin & bear it" is how my parents used to put it. I say all these things to just say, that no matter where you go, it's going to be the same all over, management's view is that this is a business & it is their concern to keep it as profitable as possible. Of course, ours would be if we got equal quality of living for the amount that we pay, then complaints would be fewer and accolades would increase. Good, bad, or indifferent, I am very happy to be a resident here, and this time in our lives, we'll just have to continue to take the "bitter with the sweet" until something better comes along. In closing, the only truly great thing that exists here at Chalet Gardens is the outstanding, pleasant, reliable and always hardworking guys of the maintenance staff here. I will not name them individually, but at one time or another I believe I've dealt with them all, and have never had anything but praise for the way they take pride & understanding in their work.
