I moved into Mayflower a few years ago and it was fine. Clean, well-kept, nice neighbors,plenty of parking. However, there has been a downward spiral both in the upkeep of the grounds, the attitude of the management and the nature of the newest tenants. A lot of rowdy, loud, obnoxious people moving in. Laundry rooms are disgusting at times and hardly cleaned. Snow removal is good as is trash collection. There is one friendly Eastern European guy who works for Mayflower who is so hard working I feel like he's the only one who actually accomplishes anything there.

I have also heard nasty stories about the superintendants extorting cash monies from some foreign tenants in order to fix things (in an emergency situation)inside their apartments. Sadly, a lot of people don't know their rights and they cough up the cash because they feel they have no recourse.

The walls are paper thin top to bottom. Noise is a problem both indoors and outdoors with people's car alarms going off constantly (are these people idiots'). Good point: H, HW included. No DW and you're only allowed ONE AC unit per bedroom (though some people have two--I've heard you have to pay a 'fee' to have the extra one)

In my experience, the property management refuses to accept responsibility for any problems they cause or neglect to attend to and will pretty much try to screw you at every turn. To add insult to injury, the Mayflower office/supers don't even own the place, though they certainly ACT like they do.

I believe that every place has its problems, but when you PAY good money to live in a place, the management should respond to basic complaints without a lot of argument. And CERTAINLY, they should not take advantage of people for their own gain. Illegal and deplorable.
