Better then the bronx, but....

Moved here from the Bronx in 02. At first I didn t mind that the apt. was a mix of old an new. The supplied A/C unit cooled at least the living room in the Summer and with the A/C unit I put in the bed room window (which you are not allowed to have but management turns a blind eye) the whole apt is not bad when its hot outside. In the Winter the heat works great, maybe too good. But the sealant around the supplied A/C unit is ancient and lets in wasps in during the summer. The paint job in my apt is terrible, looks like straight primer which left a powdery residue after it dried, which turned to dust on the hard wood floors, which took months to sweep out of the apt. It s true that the walls are thin, and if your neighbor has a crying kid you will hear it. The laundry rooms for the complex never open on time, and sometimes they close early, locking you out from the wash you were trying to get done. I would also have to mention the mice in this complex. I get them in the winter, and I lay down glue traps for them. I have already caught 4 this winter season and I know there are more. No roaches that I have personally seen, which is a nice change of scenery from the Bronx. To sum it up its not a terrible place to live, a lot better then lets say a Bronx housing project complex. But if you just look at the township of Piscataway, this is the bottom of the barrel, there are a lot nice places to live better then this if you can afford the higher rent. And $1000 dollars a month is too high as is, but I will probably tough it out here till I can buy one of the new town houses going up in this area.
--Moved out of Pleasantview Gardens end of 2006 and bought a home. Police cars were becoming fixtures in the parking lot. Steadily, that place was getting worse. When I bought a brand new car, middle of 2006, within two weeks it was vandalized (someone removed the back logo on the trunk), a few days later and a drunk driver hit the rear bumper and caused some minor damage (while it was parked in the parking spot). That place was turning into a trailer park, no place for a family. One pleasant surprise I received when I moved out, I got all of my security deposit back!
