I lived here for roughly 11mo in a 1st floor 1 bedroom. While the first 3mo were OK at best, I had some noisy H-1 visa people move in upstairs, they could barely speak english and made every attempt to annoy us. I always had to say something to them to keep quiet. They would make phone calls at 3am and speak by the bedroom window and I could clearly hear them. It was so aggravating that I demanded management to install carpeting (which before entering the lease they assured me 2nd floor apartments were carpeted to muffle any noise). They would stomp up and down the staircase and stomp around all day and night. They never did ANYTHING quietly!! The wife did not work and she would babysit children during the day and thus my wife (a night-shift nurse) barely ever got any sleep. They often had many guests come over and many of which did not understand the concept of pressing the right doorbell (which by the way should be a doorbell to a 15000 sq-ft warehouse VERY LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS). Thankfully they moved 4mo later and we didn't have an upstairs neighbor.

Maintenance and management only come if there's money involved (getting locked out is $25 during the week, $50 on weekends and fri nights). I had a broken coat rack in the closet for many months, reported it 3 times and documented the problem but a maintenance member never came. My kitchen faucet would spray me every time you would pivot it while washing dishes.

In the spring time, we got lots of new dangerous arrivals. I've called the cops on numerous occasions to report BIG groups of kids loitering in the middle of the street. One of them had the gawl to not even let my wife drive thru (she did anyway without hurting anyone). I wasn't alone apparently as many nights police came here full lights and sirens, probably from similar disturbances. Many times I wait for my wife to come home and make sure she is home and safe due to this. In the morning, I'd wake up to police cars on our street. Another time, we were going out to dinner and no less than 6 police cars were storming in.

Then summer came and with that bugs and roaches. We saw them in the bathroom and kitchen. A couple of times, I even had to kill a centipede that found its way in thru the outside hallway. Roaches were the last straw, with roughly 3mo left in our lease the search began for a new place. By the last month, I opted to vacate and pay the last 2 rent payments and move in to my new condo. When I left, the "thugs" were replaced by unsupervised kids playing stickball or cricket baseball on the main lawn courtyards, making lots of noise or hitting cars and setting off alarms. Parents were no where to be found. Some new arrivals also loved to have verbally abusive arguments in the middle of the street.

Laundry facilities were laughable - many times 1/2 the machines in the laundry room were broken, if you left your clothes in a machine for longer than a few min after they're done, you'll find them thrown onto a nearby table and the machine already occupied with someone else's clothing. We often times went elsewhere to do our laundry. Rude and class-less people here!! odusyNYCcZ7yL3Bj5JtG
