Trouble even before movein

i havent rented an apartment at this complex.

Trouble started even before i signed the lease. The model apartment was very nice, especially the 2BR one. I thought may be there wont be bug issue and noise problem if I rent the 2BR apartment. I paid 300 (50 app fee and 250 to hold the apartment) and was told to come and see the place next week.

On the scheduled date, when i called up, i was told the apartment is not ready for inspection - i will have to come on monday ! I said i want my money back and was told that you have to call within 3 days of the application date to get the 250 bucks back. I asked why i wasnt told about this before ! and they took the money and refused to return even though i hadnt even looked at the apartment !! I have looked at many complexes and this is the only one that charge 250$ to hold the apartment! i was even given an offer to stay first month and then decide (so that i wont be losing on the 250$ I already gave) -- but i had enough with misinformation, and decided not to put another dime or get into a lease with this complex. i gave up on that 300 bucks and looking elsewhere.

my advise is that you consider everything carefully and be 100% sure about renting before giving any money to this complex.

I am sorry you had that experience but when I came, I made sure I asked what the $250 was going to be used for. Before giving any money, I asked the policies and YES they told me that I had 3 days to get it back if I decided to go elsewhere. Also, I also asked how I could waive the registration fee and they helped me and waived it.

they waived registration fee for you, and wouldnt return me my deposit after 7 days when THEY did NOT mention the 3 day policy ? !! Not like 3 day policy is a rule carved in stones, especially when they didnt mention it in the first place...
