Great Place to Live!

My fiance and I moved in at the end of September, and we couldn't be happier.

We have a first floor, one bedroom apartment, which is quite spacious, especially when compared to the other apartments we looked at in the Central Jersey area.

The price is reasonable(we pay $1,165/month), and you get free access to the pool all summer, plus a basement storage unit for any unused items and all the boxes that tend to accumulate after moving into a new place.

There is also ample closet and cabinet space within the apartment to help with storage needs, and the apartment comes with a dishwasher, microwave, and electric stove.

Yes, it can get noisy around the apartment complex, especially on the weekends, but that is going to be an issue anywhere.

As first floor tenants, we do find that a lot of what our upstairs neighbor does can be heard through the floor, but usually, having the TV on will cover up the sounds they make, so it's really not that terrible.

The parking lot is small, but this is a small apartment complex.

I've come home anywhere between 6:30 pm and 2 AM Sunday-Saturday, and always manage to find a spot.

I have never had to walk more than a minute or two to get to my apartment from my car.

All parking is within the complex, so you don't have to worry about parking on the street or in front of random houses or other apartments, which I think is a huge plus.

I lived in a complex that was so big, it wasn't uncommon for me to park on the busy street in front of my apartment or several blocks away in another part of the complex, where my car was left completely vulnerable to outside elements.

Our biggest complaint, however, is the geese.

We have a view of the canal, so with the windows open, the sounds of geese are loud and clear every morning.

That's a bummer, but usually closing the window muffles the sound.

Our other complaint is all the gnats.

They're everywhere, and they're small enough to come in through the screen.

They don't harm anything or do any damage to the apartment, but they are really annoying! I find their dead bodies near my living room lamp and on the window sills.

Gross! Although, to be completely honest, I'd rather find them in my apartment than the other bugs that we found while living in our apartment in Bergen County.

BLEH!

On another positive note, Tara and Nancy in the leasing office are wonderful.

Any time I have a question, concern, or problem, they are quick to respond and problems are always taken care of within 24 hours and/or on the following business day.

Tara is especially awesome, because she takes the time to get to know everyone and will inquire about your life when you stop in to drop off the rent or pick up tokens for laundry.

You can tell them aim to please and keep their tenants for as long as possible.

I have never had a problem with any of the staff members in the 7 months I've lived here.

The moral of the story is that Rivercrest is one of the best apartments in the Middlesex/Somerset County area.

There are always going to problems and issues that arise, but that is apartment living.

If you can't stand having your neighbors on top of you, or listening to their lives happening on the other side of your wall or upstrairs from you, then move into a condo or a house.

That is the only time you are going to have exactly what you want as far as peace and quiet are concerned.

This place is wonderful and totally worth checking out if you're on the hunt for an apartment.
