Be careful about Security Deposit Refund

I heard from many of my friends that AIMCO properties try to deduct as much as possible from the security deposit at the end of the lease term. In my case I was "Legally Robbed". I cannot narrate the complete details and my agony here.
All I would like to say is that "MAKE SURE YOU GO ALONG WITH THE MAINTENANCE PEOPLE DURING INSPECTION AND IMMEDIATELY TAKE A COPY OF THAT REPORT". If you do not do that then they will charge you for anything they want and will not even inform you. Later we'll not have any evidence to disprove it. We'll end up losing a lot of money.
