Summary of the 25 reviews

Before I go on about my experience, I would like to give a summary of the 25 or so reviews already posted. These are actual posts which I cut and pasted. I will post a seperate review about my take on things:
The day we moved into our place, we had accidentally bumped (not even that hard, might I add) into the wall with some peice of furniture...and the wall totally gave. Practically crumbled.
It smelled bad. Old food smells and smokers smells caked in the crusty, old, nasty carpets. Plus, when the people below us would cook, we could smell everything through the bathroom cabinets, no less!
Last but not least: there is NOTHING near by. When and if you decide to move to Plainsboro (hopefully you?ll just drive by)...call it Plain and Boring. The closest gas station is 3 miles and all there really is, is a grocery store and a school...whoopdeedoo. But the Chinese and Italian restaurants in the shopping center are very good- that?s the only thing I?ll miss. But it is a beautiful farming town, if you like that sort of place.
Also in the model, I saw a new washer/dryer, but when I moved in I have a washer/dryer from the 70?s. It?s gross and you can?t put a lot of stuff in there. Not to mention how LOUD and annoying they are. It sounds like you have road consruction going on in your bathroom.
I called maint. in Mar. 2002 when I found out I was pregnant. Asked them to paint explaining my condition and they didn?t show up until Aug ?02. Their explanation after I called at least 25 times..... I never called, oh didn?t someone contact you yet', we are outsourcing and can?t dictate when they can come - uh excuse me I pay you not some outsource!!! And besides all this, I must listen to the intimate sounds of my upstairs neighbor because the walls are so thin.
The management staff is a bunch of liars. They will intentionally deceive you and make it seem that they are doing you a favor by allowing you to live in these apartments. No one in the staff is close to being courteous. In fact, they are outrightly rude. Getting things fixed is a nightmare. First, repairmen dont show for weeks. When they do, they try to tell you that there is nothing wrong with the apartment.
There was the ever present smell of curry each evening that prevent one from opening windows to get fresh air. I am glad to be gone.
Rent will increase every year forever. You get nothing extra for paying more. There is practically no emergency maintenance. If you call them, they will ask you if you have gone crazy or something.
The management consists of a bunch of old grumpy men and sleezy blonde Jersey women. They can be helpfull if they are not on a cigarette break. You have to be a fan of the smell of curry since 90% of the tenants are Indian.
parking was a nightmare. if you get home after 6pm, don?t expest a space in your lot. maintenence entered apt unannounced.
They entered my apartment without my permission and without even informing me. Furthermore, they left muddy foot prints all over the carpet and used my furniture to climb (to inspect the smoke alarm). On confronting them with the evidence, they pleaded ignorance and never apologised. Failed to understand that the tenant has any rights to privacy. Rent is expensive. All heating is electrc so expect an extremely fat electricity bill. They also charge separately for water. Their toilets are old fashioned and use up more than three gallons of water per flush (as opposed to the 1 gallon per flush toilets that can reduce your water bill and also conserve water).
Nobody there seems to know who to call when there is a problem, but they do know how to give the other office?s phone number without a hitch.
