Apartment smelled like smoke. Tons of things wrong with initial inspection, never repaired (including leaking garbage disposal). Maintenance responded to major flood an hour late after 3 phone calls. Did nothing for 4 days, left apartment wet and messy (imagine 75% of your apartment in a swamp, and your TV sitting on your bed, in hot humid summer season). They did put new padding under our carpet on the 4th day, but the floor and the carpet were both still dripping wet. Complained, and was told, everything will dry out.
Management people would not give a new aparment (claim it is livable condition, hence, would not even pay for hotels), would not tell when everything will be fixed or if they would be fixed, warned us that we would be breaking the lease if we move out. Worst I have ever experience (4 different apartments in 10 years in the region).
Maybe you think this place is cheap. But with the work lost (clearing the mess, argueing with jerks who would not even reason with you, refuse to to see you in person, and hang up on you when you try to reason), stuff ruined (I did not have renter's insurance for 10 years, nothing happend; but this time, my furniture got mold growing all over, and everything smells like swamp plus smoke), and additional medical bills (yes, I am allergic to mold and sensitive to smoke), it is not any cheaper than any other places in Plainsboro or Kingston.
Maybe you think terrible things will not happen to you. I thought like that before I rent this place after reading some bad reviews. Think again, the maintenance people told us (unintentially) that major accidents like this happen several times a month in this place (so they are used to delathing with this), this is not counting minor things like a leak in the roof, in the sink, in the toilet, in the washing machine, or things mal-function. Spend some more, and go to Windsor Wood, Avalon Watch, or save with Kingston Terrace, affordable housing options. Do not ever get stuck with this place.
