Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
Recently, we were looking for an apartment and visited several places. Center Grove Village has a very nice appearance and location. After making an appointment, we went to see the manager. She appears to be well-educated and professional, making a lovely presence. But looks can certainly be deceiving. I am in the people-business, and can not comprehend how this woman has remained a manager for so long.
We were in her office for about 20 minutes. She showed us around the office, which
is to represent an apartment, but we never left the office. We thought this was rather odd, since the other complexes we visited showed us around the grounds and
let us see actual apartments. Apparently, the woman in charge is very good at the
business end of the job, but her personality is hurting the complex. She is curt,
abrasive, and insulting at times. She cut me off in mid-sentence several times, and
really never answered my questions because she went on and on about her own life. She talked about herself for a good part of our meeting, and we got the impression that we were "beneath her". At one point, a tenant came in and she briskly went to
the door and told him to come back later. As she was getting up from behind her
desk, she said to us, "I'll be right back. I will get rid of him." He had lost his
key and needed something and she belittled him until he left. She appears to be
high-society, but she is defintely lacking in the area of social skills. She asked
us what other apartment complexes we had visited and we told her. Once we mentioned
Randolph Village, she went on and on about the husband and wife management team.
Several times during the twenty minute visit, she referred back to our visit to ask
us more questions about Randolph Village. I started to ask her a question about
prices, and she immediately asked me what Randolph Village was asking. She seemeed
obsessed with finding out information about them, and not us. As a person in the business world, I would tend to wonder how much business Center Grove Village
has lost because of her. I would recommend to the top management to put her behind
a desk somewhere - out of sight and out of touch with the "real" world. Maybe if you are lucky, you will get to see an actual apartment. I would certainly not recommend
renting here unless you think you will never need help from the management. Good luck!
