I have lived here now for almost 2 years. From reading all the reviews, the only issue I can agree with is the ice cream man. Windows closed and AC blasting, you can still hear him coming a mile away. But the people here are nice, its a good family area, every evening, you will see lots of people and their families walking. Before moving here, I lived in farm areas, I actually called the Sayerville PD to ask how Skytop was. The officer was very nice and told me, its a safe place for my elderly family member to be. Any issue I ever had, maint. was here pretty fast to fix it. But was never anything major (crack in tile etc. all small). Im not in an alcove, so i cant tell you about the parking there, but we have plenty on the outside areas. I do not hear my neighbors, now and then, a footstep, but the place has been here since the 60s, what do you expect'! Every morning at about 830am, there are people walking around picking up the trash, keeping the place clean. Everyone that works here, is very friendly, they greet you with a smile and always say hi. The "hidden fees" are tax related. It has been looked in to and is legit. Not to mention it was only like 10 cents to the square foot. Nothing major like they made it seem from what I read. The thing I like most is that its located off rt 9 enough so you dont hear it, but you are only about 5-10 mins to parkway, and with-in 5 mins to ALL KINDS OF STORES that you use basically every day. Some great places to eat are very close (best chinese food is next to Santinos pizza across the street). So anyone lookin around to move in this area, I've checked out all the local apartments in the area, for the money, you cant beat it!

Hey anon, I don't live far from you. I've seen what you see. About four people also use my front porch and grassy area as an ashtray. And nobody uses the dumpster for garbage; they use the sidewalk. I've seen the woman in the red car drop her kid off and pick him up hours and hours later at dark almost every day for weeks. She must be saving a bunch of money on real day care to afford to buy that car. Too bad for her little boy. He can't be more than 10 and is probably more like 8. Like the other kids in that group, they are raising themselves.

Hi Fellow Neighbors, I have lived in Skytop for 7 years and sadly ...it appears to be getting worst as each year goes by. I used to REALLY like it here! I have to disagree with having parking available. I live around building 23, 22 & building 30 and there is NEVER any parking. If you come home after 5pm you have to park 2 buildings over and take a "tram" back to your apartment. Whoops ... forget no tram here. There is NEVER any parking on the weekends. I have to "double park" to unload my laundry and groceries. Some of my oh so courteous neighbors have up to 3,4 and 5 cars per apartment. Guess it is ok to have 4 to 5 people living in a one bedroom. Hmmm... I belive there is something about that in the lease and mean against that. I vaguely remember reading that 7 years ago when signing my lease! Guess I am one the the few people who read the lease and follow the rules! Some also bring their company/work vehicles home on top of their person ones and park them there as well (contractor vans, limo and taxis and PSE&G vans). Some people also appears to have something to hide because even though that there is parking by the units that they live in they have to park in front on mine. Hey hcamper ... which building do you live in???? I have about 15 to 20 kids hanging around my place too. About 2 to 3 of them actually live by me - the rest ... well who knows were they come from. 1 little angel gets dropped off my his mother every day. They live in one of the big houses in the Oaktree developement. She come with her red little sporty Lexus blasting her music and hangs out while the kids plays. Come on she needs to grow up! Yep kids ...5pm to 9pm ...yelling and cursing and being destructive. Most are still in grade school .... AND YES THE ICECREAM TRUCK NEEDS TO GO ...... 8:30 to 9:00 at night kids should be in bed not looking to buy icecream! Some of the mothers had decided to make my front porch the "unofficial" bustop as well. Just imagine 20 of more kids and their mothers yelling, screaming and smoking outside you window while you are TRYING to sleep! We have a neighboor who has a big party AT LEAST once a year ... which starts with loud music, cars parked everywhere, drugs, alcohol, people cursing & running in the street, people having shall we shall "imtimate relations" on other peoples front steps ... ending with at least 6 cops cars showing up! It's an annual thing! Fun Fun .... just turn off the TV and watch the show! Anyhow .... yeah.... how about the arson fires! On Sunday June 15th with all the firetrucks and cops around I did see a guy I have never seen before.... he was riding around on a bicycle and circling all around the neighborhood..... he looked a be odd! My husband & I looked at him and he looked back and just smiled. Any how ..... it would help if people would just keep the laundry room doors closed and locked all of the time. I think Skytop management needs to fix the doors and change the locks. I think each laundry room needs to have a different lock and tenants should only be able to have the ability to use the laundry rooms located nearest to their buildings. We have people from who knows where acutally drive up to the laundry room, park along the curb and unload bags and bags of laundry.... take up all of the machines and then take off! Gotta love the people who do their laundry at 6:00am or 10 and 11pm at night. Rules again .... I recall there being something against that as well! Yes.... they keep it pretty clean here. The guys walk around picking up trash.... But guess what alot of people here are pigs. The guys would not have to walk around if people would just put their trash in the dumpster and not in the grass or street! That INCLUDES the cigarette butts as well!! I mean use an ashtray! These people are walking to their apartment ... I would hope they have a trash can there ... right!!! Why on earth would someone want to make the place they live in look like a ghetto dump!? Maybe I need to see if the rental office is hiring and I can inforce some the rules and clauses in the lease.... Jerry does not ... just turns a blind eye!
