Apartments themselves are large (especially for 1 bedrooms), bright, clean with hardwood floors throughout. Heat and hot water is included with rent, electricity (lighting) and gas (cooking) is not. Decor is nothing special.
I originally lived in a bottom floor apartment (whole complex is a bunch of 2-storey low-rise buildings) before moving to an upper storey. The entrance to the apartments have a separate doorway for each set of lower/upper apartment which are fairly secure. When I lived in the lower storey apartment (corner apartment), my building faced an open ravine with little lighting. During the course of a few days, there was a robbery at gunpoint outside of my apartment, and then my apartment was broken into during the early evening. I subsequently requested a move to an upstairs apartment and had to pay a transfer fee. The upstairs apartment felt much safer, but gang colors were painted on the wall near my apartment.
Office staff was quite nice and helpful as well as the onsite maintenance personnel... management was trying to maximize their $$, but that's to be expected.
Overall, the apartment was nice enough, price is one of cheaper ones in area, but make sure you live in upper apartment.
