This place is a compromise but as someone already pointed out it's getting better now. They are replacing all the elevators. The elevators should be ready before next summer. I have been living here since July and probably since around that time things are changing.

They are renovating many units. I have never seen a roach problem or anything like that. Mostly my floor is very quiet. I don't think it can be a problem - but then it varies from floor to floor.

Water is a kind of an issue. Meaning once or twice a month the water is shut mostly between 9 am - 5 pm.

Some points, you can decide good or bad yourself:

>>>assigned parking spot per apt. However, there is a big 'visitor' parking lot in the back. The visitor parking lot is not so great, it has gravel and stones - not smooth surface. But still provides ample space. Many people park there, since they share the apt. Also, for visitors/guests it's kind of a long walk from the visitor parking lot to the front entrance.

>>>There is no stair from basement/ground to the first floor. This is unusual and annoying. You either have to take the elevator or walk all the way around the building from back to front to get to the first floor.

>>>Secure entrance. 24x7 door-man present at the front entrance.

>>>Good maintenance. They typically fix things the same day if possible.

>>>Best thing is everything (heating, electric, A/C, cooking) is included in the rent. So, you've just one bill a month. Of course, you'll pay for cable/internet.

>>>Sometimes you've to wait in excess of 10 minutes for elevators. Mostly when somebody is moving. But I think that won't be a problem after April 2008, when all 3 elevators will be operating.

>>>The demography is quite a mix. If you are someone who is in his 20s like me. You'll like it here. Many Rutgers students and working professionals. I like to see people especially young around me. In that sense it's good here.

>>>Sometimes heating could be a problem in winters. The window heating unit may not be big enough to heat entire room. But it's still not as bad as you would imagine. It's very manageable. Worst case, you can have a little electric heater. Anyways, electricity is included.

>>> Big laundry room on the ground floor. Probably you'll never have to wait. $1.50 each for washer and dryer. Standard size.

>>>3 - 4 miles from I-287, 3 - 4 miles from NJTP via route 18. about 2 miles from route 1. Grocery store (stop n shop), blockbuster, BK, McD, Taco Bell, Wendy's, K-mart, Blockbuster within 1 mile or so.

The most important reason for me living here is - it's a multi-story building. I live on the top floor (21st. There is no 13th ;)) and love seeing from my balcony. The raritan river, Busch stadium, and sometimes NYC look great. There are not too many high-rises in the area, so I chose this one.
