My husband and I moved into Somerset Park in June 2001. We were pleased with the model and were that we were able to choose our apartment pre-construction. Little did we know what we were in for!

Poor & Rude Management Upon moving into our apartment we were shocked to see that our porch had been fitted with a GIANT wheelchair lift making our porch unusable. (We were not told this prior to renting). We were told it would be removed after a couple days. Week after week we called to Middlesex Management to see when it would be removed. Finally, after several months, Middlesex Management finally agreed to discount our rent (The wheelchair lift was not removed for over 6 months). I cannot stress how UNPROFESSIONAL this agency is even hanging up on me when I requested that the discount be sent to us in writing.

Awful Maintenance After moving in the first time it rained the window wells in the basement filled with water and LEAKED into the basement. We had to call Maintenance several times before they finally came in. The guy had no idea what he was doing and just placed plastic over the window well which did not help at all. They finally regarded the area, but even at the time we moved out the one window in the basement would leak every time it rained. They only mow the lawn here every couple of months. Landscaping is NOT MAINTAINED most of the trees are dead and what little landscaping there is is filled with weeds. Snow removal is completely sub par. During one storm it wasnt cleared out until after 3 pm forcing me to miss work.

Shoddy Construction The apartments were not cleaned after construction. They were filled with garbage and dirt from the workers. There were nails everywhere. The carpet is CHEAP and after only a few months it began to visibly wear. Attempts to clean scuff marks off the wall removed the paint. The walls are very thin enabling you to hear everything your neighbors do around their apartment including use the toilet!.

Frightening and Unsafe Area People sit in their car and SMOKE WEED constantly. The kids in the area are out of control ringing your doorbell and running and FIGHTING in the streets. We were constantly asking kids to not sit on our cars or our porch. The solicitors (visiting at least once a week) are so demanding and THREATENING that we stopped answering the door. I was an avid walker upon moving in. The place had gone so out of control by the time we left (10/2002) that I no longer felt safe walking by myself even during daylight hours.

Take my word on this - this place is ghetto, ghetto, ghetto. DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!
