There have been alot of police present recently. Everyday some Car has been broken into or stolen . Loud music from cars all parts of the day. Cars go more then the speed limit. Robberies have taken place. Alot of section 8 tenants live here. A used condom was found under the swing at the playground. Paper thin walls. Can hear your neighbours using the bathroom.Oxford Realty Management don't want to hear complaints. Parking is horrible. Management say's that they have security guard in the complex. Never seen a security in the years that I have lived here. WHERE IS THIS SECURITY GUARD''' Why is all the above happening, if there is a Security Guard in the complex.
Sometimes the office seems like a daycare with kids either on the phone or on the computer. Rent is high for poor quailty of living. Would not recommend this place.
STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THAT THE LEASING OFFICE TELLS YOU. THERE IS NOTHING GOOD ABOUT SOMERSET PARK. ITS A COMPLETE GETTO LIVING. ALL THE GOOD HARDWORKING PEOPLE ARE STARTING TO MOVE OUT. ITS BECOME A PROJECT

Section 8? SO what! It doesn't mean they are the problem. I work in the office for the complex, and trust me...Section 8 has nothing to do with what's going on in this development. Most of the people there do not have Section 8. While I do agree with everything you've said, I must let you know that you are absolutely wrong about Section 8 recipients. Please do your homework before making degrading comments about others.

wow!! You work in the office, you have to say something good to keep business coming in right? Its getting worst by the day. Believe me I did my homework before I wrote my comments. Read the comments on apartmentratings. There is nothing else for me to write and say, apartmentsratings says it all. I do know everyone needs a job, but please be honest in your comments.

This place has gone downhill and for a few extra dollars it is worth going to another complex. I had a friend who lived there and it appears as though management did not care how this place looked. Trash everywhere - oh it was pretty disgusting.

This place was recommended to me by the Somerset County Coalition On Affordable Housing (SCCOAH). I guess they must have some sort of agreement with management to keep referring people here, because I know several people who were given a fabulous song and dance about how great this place is by SCCOAH staff who live there.
Like any responsible, prospective tenant I decided to do some research before even calling up the main office or sending in my application. The first thing I did was to do a drive-through of the complex to get a feeling for the area. Almost immediately, upon entering the complex I got bad vibes about the place. There were way too many people (mostly able-bodied young men who should have been working) hanging out in the parking lot, sitting on cars. As I drove by everybody stopped to stare at me, like they knew I didn't belong there or something. The poor pathetic playground looked like some scary scene from a movie. The apartments themselves looked as if they had once been relatively nice, but due to years of neglectful maintenance were quickly en route to being run down and dilapidated.
I kept on driving and eventually came to a really nice section of townhouses. I wondered if these houses were part of Somerset Park, but they were kind of set back and apart from the scarier part of the complex. I am almost positive that these were privately owned townhouses/homes and the difference between them and Somerset Park was striking. These homes were well maintained. There was no one hanging out and sitting on cars (some of the residents who were outside stared at me as I drove through, I wonder if they there thinking that I was a resident of Somerset Park). For the person who commented to the original poster about Section 8, this is the difference! When I drove through Somerset Park I could tell right away that it was low income and Section 8 housing. Management/maintenance should take the rap for the appearance of the complex (grass was overgrown, playground could have been better maintained etc.) but it has nothing to do with able bodied young men who have too much time on their hands and would prefer to sit out in parking lot bs'ing with their friends instead of finding something productive to do with their time--like getting a job. You also tend to find that people who own their residence keep their place better maintained, because most people don't want to own a piece of crap.
