Nieuw Amsterdam serves one of the best sausage egg and cheese sandwiches that I have ever eaten and has an extraordinary juice bar fully equipped with Vitamin A thru Z. Well ok, maybe not, but it does have really awesome showering facilities. I have taken a shower for nearly 25 minutes and the hot water just keeps on coming. I can't explain to you how important this is to me. Coming from my last apartment where I could only get a 6 1/2 minute spraying of hot, then cold, then warm, then cold this is truly heavensent. As far as working facilites within the apartment I haven't had anything break down (Going on 4rth year) therefore maintenance has not been an issue. I did get some help from the apartment complexes employees digging out my car during this past snowstorm. The ladies at the office have been very helpful with information about the surrounding area. Might I add extremely funny too. The grounds are nice overall and I am very pleased with the apartment complex. When first looking for an apartment in comparison to the complexes in the surrounding area Nieuw Amsterdam seemed to make them look like trashcan alleys. I read a lot of complaints about noisey neighbors and I guess I am in the mindset of since I can't buy a house in the woods right now to live in seclusion there will be some noise. If you want to try and exercise a treaty with your neighbors I suggest taking a chocolate cake with whipped cream topping (no fruit filling)to your surrounding neighbors. If nobody is home continue making rounds until you see an extremely happy man at his doorway holding a tall glass of ice cold milk. Anyway, I like the place.
