Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2006
First off, this site is showin this as being posted in 2003.... it is Nov 28th, 2006. I spent 4 years here and posted 2 reviews. Not much changed, some things have gotten worse. Walter is now gone, which means anything you reported to him in regards to move in issues (my kitchen corner by the stove never being painted or finished and the cracked window and broken blinds) will probably be charged to my security deposit as they have in the past charged you for anything and everything they can. I have had a 4 ft hole in my bathroom cieling since September when I reported a leak from the bathroom upstairs. It is a health hazzard they have not fixed, unsightly, drafty, and a tribute to teh fine living standards that they boast in their advertizing. A tip to someone dumb enough to move in.... make sure you go over the place with a fine tooth comb and read the move in damage report before you sign your lease. BEFORE not after. You are the customer and YOU can have a say in whether or not the place is acceptable to move into.
There is now a large smelly dumpster in my parking spot, and I was told by Lenny that he would have the disposal people move it.... that was this summer in July it is now nearly December... nothing has changed.
PEople still leave trash lying all over the place. There is a desk between the Johnson place curb and the sidewalk that someone was too lazy to take back to the dumpsters. It has been there for about 2 months now. People still leave trash laying in my parking spot and outside the dumpsters. Couches, old furniture, chairs, trash bags, etc... sit by the dumpsters because people are too lazy to put them in or they are overflowing. Because of this, wildlife has moved in such as Raccoons, cats, and even a friendly skunk to rubbage through the trash. Got to love sitting in your car and hoping you don't piss off the skunk and wait for him to move away from your front door so you can go inside. Lovely feeling. Can't wait for a cat to piss it off and for the skunk to leave a nice smelly present.
Sidewalks are still washed out. No grass under the oaks and the stuff they tried to plant last year has for the most part died because they didn't take care of it. Many branches came down this summer and they were cleaned up about monthly. Still roots to trip over all over the place. Kids still litter, piss, smoke, key cars, walk in the middle of the street and disregard traffic, and grafitti all over the place. Cops will come if you call dispatch and let them know they are loitering. Kids still rip up and down the street at about 60 mph in rice grinders with loud exhaust.
Napthali Amsel still does not return calls within a day or so from the time you leave him a message. The office is getting better, they returned my call the same day, about 5 hours from when I left a message and then hung up on me when someone walked in. To get things done, you must call Kushner in Florham park and ask for is supervisor. Anything you are told, get in writing.
Billing is still a joke. They cashed my rent check for 500 less than what it was written for in Feburary of 06, tried to evict me in April, after I showed Johnathan Cohen at Kushner Companies the check was written for the right amount he said Kushner would credit my account and it was their error. After that Napthali Amsel ran my check again after Mr Cohen said they wouldn't. They also are trying to charge me Decembers Rent after they signed for a certified letter I sent 5 months earlier that notified them I was going to vacate Nov 30th. Once again Mr. Cohen assured me that I would not be charged, or that I would not be held accountable once I handed my keys in.... we'll see about that. They will screw your credit report, so check it after they try anything.
All in all, I still prefer my tent in Saudi Arabia to this place.
