I WOULD LIKE TO GET TOGETHER WITH CURRENT & FORMER JAMESTOWNE VILLAGE RESIDENTS.
IF WE CANNOT GET TOGETHER IN PERSON WE COULD ALL MEET ONLINE. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE TO EXPOSE JAMESTOWNE VILLAGE MANAGEMENT FOR WHAT IT REALLY IS. IN ORDER FOR ANY ACTION TO BE TAKEN AGAINST JAMESTOWNE VILLAGE WE WILL NEED TO SEE WHO IS GOING TO BE INVOLVED. SO EVERYONE INTERESTED IN REPORTING JAMESTOWNE VILLAGE TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES, PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE HERE AND I WILL CHECK DAILY FOR RESPONSES.

I am a former tenant of Jamestowne Village Apartments. All the reviews I have read are so unbelievably accurate. People thinking about renting from here, please STOP and read these 100% TRUE FACTS ABOUT JAMESTOWNE VILLAGE APARTMENTS:

1.The Management will lie, cheat, and steal from you ANYWAY they can.
2.They ALWAYS keep your DEPOSIT, and LIE about damages.
3.They enter your apartment when you are NOT HOME to snoop around, but will leave
a message on your door that said they were checking for a WATER LEAK.
(They do snoop around and will go through your personal items, a friend of mine
who is also a former tenant, found one of the 23 year old punk staff, up in his
apartment, and he was looking in his DVD collection as he was smoking a cigarette)
My friend asked what he was doing and the punk replied "just taking a break."
Unbelievable, huh'
4.Every apartment in that complex has CENTIPEDES & BIG BLACK BUGS. When I was a
tenant I had asked a few of my neighbors about the bugs and they said they had the
same thing. Then I read a review on here about the BIG BLACK BUGS and CENTIPEDES.
(Believe me people, these BIG BLACK BUGS, and grossly HUGE, and POP when you kill
them) No EXAGGERATION these things are about the size of half of a regular BIC
lighter.
5.A FIFTY DOLLAR fine is given if you have your window open or slightly cracked
during the "NO OPEN WINDOW" season which lasts forever. So NO fresh air allowed
at all for a bunch of months. No lie. I've personally received the 50 dollar
fine on 3 seperate occasions. They had someone walk behind my apartment and check
the windows, I had it open slightly the 1st time, and BAM, 50 bucks. Someone on
this review board called it a PRISON....thats exactly what that felt like, a
guard walking around checking cells.
6.If you are having problems with your water or heat, be prepared to not be answered
for up to 2 weeks. And if you call again, they will claim its not an emergency and
believe it or not, they will FINE you 50 dollars JUST FOR THE CALL.
7.One out of every 3 apartments there has a violation when it comes to tenant
occupancy. 1 of 3 apartments has appx 5-8 Mexican men living in them. Once again
I tell you NO LIE.
THERE ARE HONESTLY ABOUT 200 MORE THINGS I COULD ADD FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCES, BUT WILL WAIT UNTIL WE ALL MEET TOGETHER IN A CHATROOM OR IN PERSON TO DISCUSS THIS FURTHER. WE WERE WRONGED, WE CANNOT SIT BACK AND TAKE IT>

Those big black bugs are refered to as "waterbugs" actual name for them is an Oriental cockroach. Yes, cockroach. Look them up they will give you all the information and they are all over this place. My kids have asthma and the no windows thing keeps them sick all winter long with broncitis over and over and over. I cant wait to get out of here and I will spend all the time I need to in court to make sure I get my deposit back. If I find out that my alergies or my kids were caused from the mold in this place due to leaks from outside and inside, I will sue the life out of this mexican ridden place. I am by far no racist, but I am so tired of seeing all these illegals around here, they are rude, loud, and bring so many drugs. I have been accused of being a drug dealer....accused? I was very upset with that because I live and breath for my kids and I feel they had a lot of nerve making an accusation like that followed by a threat to evict me if they ever find out. Now they generally leave me alone noticing that I am just a hard working person out to do my best. I see crack heads hanging out of their dealers cars all the time and they still live here and are moving in more. I hope I can find more reasons to take them to court when I move. It will make my day to make them suffer the way the make all of us suffer. I want to see them shut down and condemed!!!

While I was living there, I remember this one time our faucet in the bathroom broke. I don't mean a small leak... It was an all out raging water fest... SCALDING HOT water, no less. They came out to fix the once SMALL leak a week prior. When we called the emergency hotline, they came over in about an hour. Water STILL raging, the tub slowly filling up because the drain wasn't (and never really did) work as it should. The man came and had to turn off our water. It took him close to three hours to fix it. When all is said and done, we got charged $200 for "neglecting" to tell them about the leak (remember, they came to fix the leak a week before). Not to mention them ripping apart the bathroom the following week so they can fix the damage they caused while fixing the faucet. Two weeks of men in our apartment, working. Plastic curtains and stuff LITTERED the bathroom and when they were done, the left the mess for US to clean.

Centipedes... They grossed me out. It was like they appeared one after another. I've never had the problem with the black bugs (I don't remember).

It annoyed me when we couldn't open the windows during the fall/winter/spring no window season. Especially on the beautiful days. I opened them anyway, and luckily never got caught.

One one occasion, we called for the screen to the backdoor to be fixed, and even though they eventually replaced the screen, we were left to clean up the broken screen.

The heat... OH let me tell you about the heat! The very first winter there, we froze. We looked around the entire apartment for a thermostat. We never found one. We froze that night and the next morning, we called them, asking if there was something wrong with the heat. We were told to look at the thermostat to tell them the temperature. When we tried explaining there was no thermostat, they became irrate and insisted there was. Giving up, we went to work. Would you believe, when we came home, there was a thermostat on the wall next to the bedroom. It was NEVER there before. Not only was this thermostat COVER just put there, it never moved. In the summer, it would remain at 70 degrees. In the freezing cold (yes, we were there during the really bad snowstorm a few years ago), would you believe it was at 70 degrees?? Tired of freezing, we invested in several space heaters. Our electric went up, but it was worth not freezing anymore.

Speaking of temperatures, the huge outdated air conditioning unit that was on the wall? It didn't work. No. It worked, but it took forever. It was insanely loud and upon inspection, there were several holes around the unit. We had to stuff towels into the holes so that the cold air would stay in, and bugs and such would stay out.

Throughout the entire Jamestown experiences was definately a learning experience. I'm glad to say that my first apartment has made me look for things in my next apartment. My rule of thumb now, if they do not allow you to look at your apartment before signing the lease and moving in, you shouldn't give the complex a second glance (We had to peer through the windows to see what our apartment looked like. The managers insisted that the apartment wasn't ready and that we'd see it before we moved in. We "officially" saw it the day we picked up the keys. When we snuck a peek via the window and from when we got our keys... It didn't look different, at all)

Jamestown = a waste of your hard earned money.

I currently reside at Jamestowne and I can't agree with you more. I have lived here since 2005 and it seems as thought I have had nothing but problems. I had bug problems also, big black bugs, centipedes and even ants. I have complained and an exterminator has came one time. So far so good. I have not seen any creepy crawlers recently. My apartment is falling apart, my window sill in the bedroom is cracking and there must be a leak somewhere because I see stains on the ceiling in my bedroom. My front door is broke and thank god I have a dead bolt on it, thats the only way it is staying shut. I have complained about this for the past 2 weeks and so far nothing is being done about it. The walls in the kitchen are cracking and to put it bluntly, the apartment is falling apart each and every day. As far as management goes, Kathy is always trying to find something to ----- to me about. I know she has her spies watching and they always have something to say to her about me. I keep to myself and who I have visit me is my business, it shouldn't concern them as long as its not illegal. I pay my rent I should be able to have my boyfriend and family stop over when ever they feel like it with out feeling like their every move is being watched. I have so many things I would like to say about this place, but the main one is I wish I never even moved here. I feel trapped. And I took pictures of this place when I moved in and the date is on them, so I would like to see them try and keep my security deposit.

Haha I know exactly what you guys are feeling! No JOKE! I am currently in the process of sueing them for my security deposit. . . You know the $1400 deposit. Well they are trying to keep it and charged me an extra 175 sum odd dollars on top of it! hahaha I laughed as did my lawyer. Basically I moved into the "all electric" apartment. It had new carpet when i moved in and still does. I payed a $300 pet fee just to have my dog there on top of the extra $35 a month for rent. . . Soo 8 months down the road I bought a house and moved out cleaned up. I payed rent the last four months until it was finally over. (they wouldnt let me out) So after paying 4 months of rent at $930 and a $2100 mortgage, I was releived. In dept from it all but def worth it! So me and 4 friends went the last two days (remember noone was is in it for 4 months) we go in and clean (again) the day before I turn the keys in. Too make a long story short, they caused a water leak in my bathroom from a repair upstairs that day! Ironic I think not. . . Then after fixing my apartment left the mess for me to clean with only hours before i turned the keys in. Soo the apartment was mint and I have plenty of witnesses. They charged me due to my "neglect" that the carpet needs to be replaced due to dog urine!!! Remember they knew I had a dog. It cost me $300 non-refundable plus $35/month extra rent. Not to mention I crated my dog while I was at work!!! Messes??? I think not!!!! The carpet is 8 months old!!! get out of here. . . Soo they charge me for 93 sq YARDS!!!!! I work in construction fellas and that like 2700 sq ft of carpet!!!! My apartment was 700-900 sq ft. it was a one bedroom! You talk about bogus charges!! haha sooo as for the cockroaches and ants. . . wow I remember waking up to 1,000s upon 1,000s of ants in the morning on several occasions!!!!! and Im a neat freak Type A personality!!! So i battle them and end up late for work with chemicals that should control them for 9 months. . . more like 9 days!!! haha. . . how about dead birds in the attic smelling up the joint??? or getting calls while yer at work that yer back door is open. . . when its not. . . and how Im not cleaning up my dogs poop. . . (which was bull) I use those blue and green pic up bags that go in the leash from petsmart. . . Sooo b/c they were harrassing me at work threatening to evict my dog and me on several occassions. . . and im talkin repeated calls in 10 mins. I fought back. . . I picked up the poop and tied the bags shut tight and kept them on the back porch. . . hahaha then had my rents stay at my place during the day and take pics and videos of a lil white shitzsu from the building next door not being picked up after. soo their reason was we didnt have this problem until you moved in. . . Im the greatest rentor you could imagine! So I stuck it to em. . . Sooo then I got harrassed that my rents were there more then one night (from north carolina) Then they moved on to sending me cease and desist letters on the dog and my g/f. Yup like the rest of you. She didn't live with me. IT was my apartment I payed the rent she was my guest. She stayed at her rents from time to time stilll but worked 2 blocks from me soo she slept ova alot. They harrassed me saying she has to pay $50 and fill out an application. I was like no Its my place my stuff. If we break up I dont want her having any claim to my residence. Which happneded shortly after. But I payed the $50 to get them off of my back. Sooo basically I can keep going. . . Ill let ya know how the court precedings go!!! Hi everyone..I don't live here but I do know somebody that does...has anyone ever thought of contacting a news channel..they would come out and question the management at jamestown....i would definitely consider it....this place sounds horrible to live there and after reading these responses i wouldn't even think of going there...
From: Anonymous Date: 02/09/2009
well hello it is 2009 and nothing has changed i wish i had read this before i moved in now i am an unfortunate tenant. there are giant centipedes that are so gross and theres so many of them i couldnt even sleep the first night we saw them i was up in bed crying afraid that they would crawl on me while sleeping. the plumbing is sickening as well. the toilet bowl was running they came to "fix" it and a day later the handle and internal workings just fell apart....they fixed it AGAIN and it wokred for a while its running again but i give up atleast i can still flush it. we had shower problems as well, go to turn on the shower and wow, no water came out and the wall rattled loudley. it was fixed next morning again no water would come out. it was fixed about3 days later again no water would come out. it was fixed again. then one time the shower was clogged and they said they found a cigerette butt..very accusatorily, well myself and roomate do not even smoke! also the water pressure in the shower when it was working is barely even there might as well just take a bed bath when i asked if something was possibly wrong with the shower head they said no thats how they save water. i mean come on a little water pressure isnt gonna break the bank. then another time there was no hot water try taking a shower in january with cold water not happening....so i went to work unshowered after being at the gyn working up a sweat for an hour. also they are completely rude and handle situations very unprofessionally. there has to be something that can be done......but what?
