Oh my God what a dump!

These apartments are terrible. If you are a new tenant they will only show you the model apartment, but beware as the one you get will not look at all like the model. If you have a problem in an apartment they will not respond unless you threaten a lawsuit. And they like to keep your deposit even for their negligence in not responding to problems with the apartment. They have even been seen going into apartments without the tenants' knowledge or permission. It was also reported, by VERY reliable sources, that they go through you personal property too. DO NOT LIVE THERE. All they care about is getting money and then they do absolutely nothing to earn it to boot!!! The blizzard a few years ago was a total nightmare. They went calling tenants AFTER the police told them to plow it out on their own or the township would do it and send them the bill, called tenants and told them to move their car or they will be ticketed and towed. First of all they have no title 39 to give out tickets. Second of all if people could get out they would have, But Jamestown felt it appropriate to just make threats and look for money. As for being disabled, They do not allow ramps, tell people who put them up to take them down and refuse to remove a tree or help by building one that will fit around their precious landscaping, which is beautiful by the office but as soon as you wander around the property away from the office you will see the real mess of Jamestown. The office help, well that's another separate issue, they are rude and then blame it on anyone else rather than admit they should not deal with the public. The owner, well he's just nuts because he will be nice to you one minute and then yell at you the next because he is mad at someone else. (Real Mature huh). They verbally abuse and harass you and then have the gall to deny they did so. If you need to talk to them be sure to do it in person with a witness for your safety and sanity. And don't report problems with the apartment because it is useless. Walls and ceilings can and have fallen in on tenants and they said it wasn't an emergency because it happens on the weekend. You have no heat, Oh well that's not an emergency either even at 45 degrees in your apartment. And if you call officials to complain, the office help retaliate with false complaints that they cannot back up in a court of law without getting people to commit perjury either on paper or by word of mouth. According to the Dover Township police this is one of the safer complexes to live in. I wonder why people even bother with Dover Township if that is their Professional opinion compared to other apartment complexes. According to this and all the other reviews that's not saying much for Dover Township. I lived there for 14 years and hated it more and more as time went on. I stayed only because I didn't want to do the move and couldn t afford to move. Well! Can I tell you I have never been happier than now after I moved out! The office staff is nasty and abusive of the tenants. They act as if you have to obey everything they say and do nothing without their permission. I became disabled and they would not allow me to put up a wheelchair ramp and the one I had couldn't be used as it came to a tree and I was afraid to even dare ask to take it down, out of fear of being told I would be evicted. Living in Jamestown Village was to live in fear of being in trouble for anything you do from blowing your nose to wanting a window open. Toms River judges rule in the tenants favor on opening windows as they have stated that they cannot prohibit you from having fresh air any time of the year. The entire complex is not handicap friendly at all. No ramps, no dropped curbs, narrow halls, narrow sidewalks. Only 2 handicapped parking in the entire complex of over 250 apartments and they tell all the tenants that they can use them even if they are not disabled. These spaces do not fit a wheelchair access vehicle either. DO NOT LIVE THERE IS A HELL HOLE!
THEY ONLY FIXED UP THE APARTMENTS AFTER 2000 AND THEY ARE DONE WITH APPLIANCE REJECTS. After living there for a very long time, I finally was able to get out of that hellhole. They go through maintenance workers annually do to the abuse they give them. They go through tenants at the same rate for the same reasons. They are very empty now, as word of mouth is getting around about the way they treat tenants. They let tenants walk dogs and not pick up poop. They only beautify the grounds outside the office. If you look beyond the office area you will see the real Jamestowne emerge. Unmowed lawns, dry brown lawns, overgrown trees and bushes that were once weeds. Windows blocked by overgrowth. Rotten wood on the doorsills and frames. Paint peeling off window frames. Rain gutters falling off or full of weeds. Rain leaders hanging off the buildings. Broken fences. No wheelchair ramps, no drop curbs for wheelchairs. They even made a tenant take down a ramp that the tenant put up to be able to get in the place they rented, thus forcing the tenant to move out. When it snows they plow the parking lot if they feel like it. They have snow blowers by chose not to use them most of the time to clear sidewalks. They do not salt ice on walkways and build a mountain to block the sidewalk making it near impossible to get out. One tenant even had a ceiling collapse during a rainstorm and they had nothing but sky over them and the office said it wasn t an emergency and refused to do anything until the tenant threatened to call the cops on them. They just gutted and redid the laundry room saying they were making it state of the art. All they did was rebuild it the same as it was put in the same style machines. Why they had mold but didn't want the tenants to know, thus jeopardizing the health of tenants that used and lived near the laundry room. I can honestly say that Rich is ok. He tries his dandiest to work with everyone. Harvey and Kathy abuse Rich and the rest of the employees horribly. The turn over rate for their staff is ridiculously high. Except for those that sit on their duff in the office that is. Right... Kathy, Harvey and Sheri. They think nothing of abusing tenants and staff and then trying to blame the other person. Be wary of them, they'll act like a friend being all nice whenever they want something and then they go for the kill, so to speak. Don t trust them. And that security you pay "just in case you do damage" HAHAHA. That s just money in their pocket as they will make false claims and keep every penny and ask for more. They are thieves, crooks, shysters, schwindlers, schuliks, umerlech, dishonest. I put it into Yiddish for Harvey to understand. Harvey and Kathy (the owner and his lover) are the ones who send out snoops to spy on the tenants and look for ANY reason to fine tenants. They also are not liked in the courts due to the way the abuse tenants.
